Honda MTX 125R. 87 plate. 2stroke oil res ran dry. bike siezed.
Anyone got any good links for bits to fix. its proving difficult as out in France. Some would say junk it. but as I said above. getting the right stuff out here not proving easy. with the local honda dealership saying they wont look at my bike as its too old.. so any help really appreciated.
option 2. honda CG style engine that does run. sitting in a crappy old dirt bike frame not used. am sure can get it into frame. but question is wiring and charging system. anyone got any advice on this.
I know a few of you would say stick the lot on ebay or in a skip and get a propper bike, but in these times that is not possible. so would be really grateful for any advice.
cheers.

I’ll bet you a dollar, Dave Silver Spares or Wemoto will more than likely have most parts you need.
I’m fairly certain that they will have no problem sending/posting your goodies to France.

Certainly worth fixing. Get a Haynes manual and strip it down to find out how broken it is.
You will almost certainly need a new piston and rings and either a new barrel or a rebore on the existing one. You may also need a crank rebuild, but they were fairly tough so you might get away with just the top end.

Don't bother trying to fit a CG engine, for all the reasons.

Piston, rings & rebore - occupational hazard with 2-strokes surely? Smile
