If it happens it'll be "you need an app to go to a restaurant" 'cos Covid fascism. Then it'll be all your other normal vaccinations rolling onto the ones for going to places with tropical diseases and it'll just balloon from there.

However, I'm sure there's been the conversation "this'll be easy, just like wot when Labour tried National ID cards..." and if there's one thing the Tories are known for it's a complete lack of testicles.

Do you know if you're on the police's non crime hate list? Apparently something like 200,000 people are, and most of them don't even know it. Given that it's all about perceptions, I don't see how anyone could know.

That's a quite complete system already isn't it? I wonder if they will come up with an app to check what people are thinking on their phones? Obviously they could conceal it by saying something like "protecting children from harm".

Besides it could be worse! They could be recording your internet usage for 6 months and then searching it to make sure you're thinking the right thoughts. Just to rub it in they would probably do it in a doughnut shaped building because well cops eat doughtnuts right?

.... oh Neutral

Signal, Telegram, VPN, encryption on everything.

Why go to the hardship of monitoring people's thoughts when it's much, much easier to condition them to think the way you want. Welcome to the mind-poison that is Social Media.

What are they going to do with the ppl who are largely immune to FaecesBook, Instashame, Twatter & ThickTwots or worse... don't even own a smart phone? Shocked

I guess I'll find out sooner or later.
Just to note, although as far as I'm aware there hasn't been anything to do with this kind of stuff, as I understand it Korn here has been contacted by police a number of times in the past about various shenanigans by users of this forum, so it's not like they're not aware of this place either.

Anyone who thinks they're anonymous on the internet is deluding themselves. And anyone who IS on the internet and has any kind of social media / facetwat / Googlefail / account has been having their data mined / pilfered / scrutinised since they signed up and accepted the Tolstoy length T&C.

You could shut down twatter / instaban / TickTwock and all the rest of that shite right now and it'd be absolutely zero loss.

This guy had the wrong views, so he got his windows and doors smashed by the police. Let's hope your opinions are on the approved list:

They used to use "breach of the peace" as the catchall to arrest anyone for anything, then they switched to Section 5 and the copper would wind the person up until they said something arrestable.

With the non crime hate incident they have taken it to a whole new level by just making up their own secret law and secret enforcement.

It's not really even about anonymity anymore. A secret police?! The police are actually becoming enemies of ordinary folk, most of whom have no idea of what it is illegal to say, and it keeps changing and extending. Today's truths are tomorrow's lies. It's not "getting like" Orwell. They're actually using Orwell's 1984 as the playbook. What hope if the police have no accountability? How on Earth did we let this happen?

You could always just 'leave the internet' which makes it much much harder to trace you.

Unless you've been vaccinated of course ....

You're missing the point entirely. The laws, or rather 'guidelines' that these police bodies are following don't just extend to the internet. You might say something in public, completely inadvertently, and with no malice intended, and find yourself "on the wrong side of the law". Or in Scotland, you might even find that happening in your own home if a family member has a fit of pique over something you say. There is no aspect of society into which these police guidelines don't reach, public or private, even to young kids in school. One transgression is enough to see you arrested and marched into court. And don't forget, we're dealing with what someone perceives as hate speech, or speech that 'might' do harm. And your accuser can remain completely anonymous.

All hate speech laws need to be eradicated, unless someone is specifically and directly inciting violence.

Bit disappointing really. I was hoping you'd have to step into the changing room of Harvie & Hudson and turn the hat peg to the right for the lift...

Thought it might be time to raise this subject again.
Is China's system, or something like it, something we want here?

No sympathy from me. His right to be a weirdo vs. the right to ask, “What are you doing, deliberately suspicious weirdo?” Call it evens.

The multitude of GCHQ signs saying, ‘no photographing our ugly buildings and railings’ were as daft though. If it was personnel you were looking at you’d just follow them home.

They'll all be DV and if someone turned up at their house would have no compuction about calling the filth.

It's not hard to find GCHQ staff. Many of them live in the houses around GCHQ, and from what I've read they make it pretty difficult for non-GCHQ to rent there too.

Lol. Worried about what? I think you may be another one misinterpreting sentiments expressed on the internet. Hey, we all do it sometimes Smile
Do you think some kind of China-style social credit system is a good idea?

.

And this opinion is based on what?

I work with a lot of people who are DV and living one to where they work isn't really a consideration.

Plus most don't rent.

The US is already quite open about monitoring the social media postings of foreign nationals who deign to cross their borders.
