I have made this purchase a couple days ago saying it’s a 1969 Honda cd125 but the frame and tanks says other wise to me and I can’t figure it out, seller later tells me it’s from over seas which didn’t help the case. It’s came with most of its parts including engine but I want to figure out what cd it officially is, I’m trying to get it titled using the Vermont method but I can’t do it without the right information.

No one will be able to date a partially assembled bike just on that one photo. You might want to compare the frame number with any enthusiast databases to give you an idea.

In the UK you'd then contact Honda or the Honda Owner's Club to get a dating letter, no idea about The Land of the Free [to go on holiday when shit goes down]

The model number might even be the first part of the chassis number.

I'm not a walking motorcycling history book, but the cycle parts shown in the picture, look identical to my mates CD175 which he had on a L plate 1972. The CD 175 had quite a long run as a model from 1970 -1975. I think it then grew into a 185. The earlier CD175 was also available as a 125, but this model has a sloping engine and no lower frame tubes and so is different to the model shown. I can't say about other markets , but in the UK , that running gear was a 175. https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/12-1973-honda-cd175-k4/?lot=14769&sd=1

Was you expecting a 'Benly' with its pressed steel frame perhaps?
this is a 1969 CD125

You might have bought a CB125 or a 'Bitza'

I reckon you need to start with the frame number to see what you have there

The one in your pictures doesn't have the lower frame tubes and has the sloping engine, so probably the earlier model.

The vin has CD125 in it and I ran a search through Nada and other vin spotters but nothing pops up so I called and emailed Honda in hopes for a response but nothing yet on the matter, I will post more pics later, I just don’t want to buy the wrong parts that it needs for it
