I like the idea of them if you join one it's like you have your own biker family which is never a bad thing.

I have been to a couple of biker nights and never had a bad experience with them all have been super friendly. Would I join one I don't know?

That may be the case, but I don't need to pay a sub to hang around with my family or my mates

I don't know if you have to pay tbh its never come up when I have chatted to some people from an mc.

Yup, you pay subs.
Clubhouses aren't usually free and officers get travel expenses for foreign meetings etc.

Indeed, i even heard of one club having to take out public liability insurance for when they were on "orgainised" ride outs, which pretty much involved any ride out with any club member, or other clubs members

I just avoid going where they are and if they turn up to something, I keep out of their way.

Much in the same way as I would with any other sort of gang.

I know a couple of patch club members socially but people as individuals and a group as a gang when they are "on duty" can behave very differently. Prospects in-particular can be unpredicatable. I tend to avoid coloured up "feeder" support clubs for a similar reason.

A load of guys standing round with their arms crossed creating an atmosphere is something I can do without in my life. I'd walk out of a pub where a load of folks were displaying similar body language.

If there's a rally with a lot of people flying colours, I don't go to it again. Yorkshire MAG rallies are good in that respect. I'm sure plenty of backpatchers go but there's a no colours, no attitude rule.

I never understand the stance a lot of them take when they show up at the little do's, seems like they're trying to kill rallies off quicker than they already are dying.

Mate of mine was going to be working the gate at the Rock and Bike Show Squires, got me a ticket which had the list of 'do nots' on the back never known a rally have so many rules Laughing

To be fair, that's probably cheaper than their paying for penis extension surgery.

Certainly didn't use to care, guess it's just annoyed me with them being one of the very few groups of bikers who have been unwelcoming.

We mostly get MCC's round here (Chesvegas) with only really one dominant MC, of which they all "support" (whatever that actually means, who knows)

It does get a bit comical with the amount of MCC's here though, there are at least 7 i can think of, (and Chesvegas isn't really a big place) and as you say, they just seem to take over the Bike Night's, only 2 local meets are not affiliated with any club, and they are the 2 i tend to frequent

The yall advertise theur meets as "everyone welcomed", but unless you turn up dressed in all black leather, with a waitcoat on, they barely even acknowledge you

Yes, very similar around here as well. Many seem to be offshoots of another

I was in 2 different backpatch clubs over the years. One was a lot more hardcore for want of a better word than the other. I enjoyed my time with both of them. Good camaraderie and you knew if you had any sort of problem you had friends that would help you irrespective.

I was young then though, early twenties through to late thirties and no, I didn't ride a Harley or wear assless chaps. Laughing

Its a different kind of life.
I've surfed on the edges of it, not totally my kind of thing TBH

Bit of a struggle to have a "normal" life, once you exorcise extricate yourself.
But middle-class and boring is *fine* by me, thank you very much.
I don't fit in there, either.

Having dipped one's toe in that water, so to speak, I do find it's easier to approach burly types without having fear of how it will all turn out (doormen, basketball players, street scumbags etc) and be able to look them eye to eye without as much fear as a normal person.

OK a normal *woman* Rolling Eyes

Plus, its given me confidence to just be me, just Jennifer - their attitude of "what the fuck do I care what you think of me?" has given me some "attitude" I never used to have, and its done me some good being around those types.

But it's not really for me.
I tend to let them all get on with their whateverrrrrr ... but I do like to bump into them from time to time. I doubt most of them would know/care who I am. Moi aussi, dudes.

Shifty mebbe I wear their old support t-shirts as bedwear in the winter to keep warm, ya know wot I mean Shifty

I get kind of sad when I see RIP messages about this old piss-head or that who I might have known in the past. So I've seen out another one, oh well. Rude not to acknowledge their passing, or whatevs.

Daft old lot of dinosaurs, they are Wub
Even the young'uns Wub

Lots of things look better at a distance than up close. Squinting and rose-tinted specs may also help improve the view. Like America. The less you know or see about America, the more you appreciate America. Laughing
