Don't care about budget, just trying to decide between the two. I'm biased towards the 701 but want opinions, especially from people who've maybe ridden both or similar.

Purely for road use & for the sole purpose of popping wheelies all the time. Won't be doing long distances on it at all and it's just a toy.

Don't care if I crash it. WR450 will be a proper supermoto conversion not the off-road version. Here's what I'm thinking so far:

---

Benefit of WR450, it's a lot lighter

Drawbacks vs the 701, less power & therefore less top end (shorter gears?), weird service intervals, not that much cheaper than a 701

---

Benefits of 701, more power, better brakes, has electronics (abs, tc), better top-end (more suitable gearing for the road?), normal service intervals

Drawbacks vs WR450, it's heavier.

What does BCF think?

Really just traditionalist vs. modern - personal taste - they're both good bikes.

If it's mainly road work I'd go with the 701.

Having owned one, 701 wins if you want to play on lanes and enjoy. Wr wins if you seriously off road and like it's maintenance schedule.

701 also looks better!

Heavier. More expensive. Sort of not the bike he's going for.

701 or 690 SMC

Alright after listening to a bunch of people, everyone's pretty much said exactly the same thing about the WR and the Husky.

701 it is. Thumbs Up
