Due to a shoulder injury I need to fit a damper to my bike to make it easier to ride one handed on back roads, but seem unable go find one to fit my model, a Honda Cbf600sa8. Anyone fitted one to this model, or know of where to get one. Ebay looks a washout

Riding one handed for an appreciable distance is a recepie for disaster.

One handed down backroads? Maybe a car is a better idea?

The one handed part is only to relieve the jarring my shoulder gets, because the pain is constant but the jarring makes it worse. I'm not thrashing it on back roads, just bimbling along at legal speeds, and always on the lookout for idiots. As for four wheels, no thank you. I don't like tin boxes unless as a passenger

Anybody should be fully fit to ride any motorcycle at any time.
There is only one loser if an accident occurs. Thumbs Down

One handed and a steering damper are both odd ways to solve your problem. The CBF600 isn’t the type of bike to find itself in tank-slapper situations so you won’t find a standard fitment. You’d need to adapt something like one of Harris Engineering’s kits.

I wouldn’t.

I am waiting to get a ultrasound scan done to see what the problem is. The bike is my only mode of transport but it hurts the shoulder on potholed roads and can also hurt just taking bike off the side stand. The idea of using a damper was just to take some of the strain out of keeping the bars pointing where I want them.

I also suffer from a lot of vibration from the bars, so I already spend some time steering with just one hand on the throttle so think some heavier bar end weights would be a good idea

Steering dampners are frame related.
The natural wobble as you steer straight builds up with increase in speed. That can develop into a tank slapper.
Sports bikes normally come with dampners as the frame is configured for fast steering.

As mentioned, steer clear of one hand riding.

But yourself a powerball and go after the fastest speed.
That will really tone the shoulder bits.
Expect it to take about a month.

I had the bike before the injury, which medics currently do know the cause, hence the scan. I'm 61 and have ridden since the age of 17, and many a time have ridden with left hand resting on leg, even on group ride outs it just means riding accordingly and being prepared for anything.
I have always sat relaxed on a bike, I have never felt the need to grip the tank with my legs, and have the bars set to allow me to have loose arms- your more likely to break bones if you come off tensed up, but with this injury my shoulder and upper arm are in a lot of pain and there is not a position to hold it in to stop it hurting.
I have used the bike three times since the injury, twice for shopping and once for a ride to Kimbolton, and that was not a good run due to state of the roads. I rode two handed, but when I got home I could not use the arm to get my jacket off so have not been on it since.
