Well done, especially zero minors!

Have you got a bike ready or is it shopping time?

Keeping it old skool Very Happy

Just having a look on the website for that bike. It's interesting that something with that styling has things like USB sockets under the seat for charging devices, traction control and cruise control. Not exactly what you'd expect.

yea i like the old looking stuff, i also need a fairly upright relaxed riding position as i have lower back problems, ive no interest in sports bikes at all

I sat on a friends R1 and i was very bunched up, i wouldnt have been able to ride it longer than 5 mins without being crippled, horrible position for me, also tried the wifes street triple and thats too bunched up for me aswell

I learned on an ER6N iirc and I managed ok on that but not the position id want to be in with my own bike

Picked up the bike Saturday morning, I love it

I was worried with it having more power than what I had learned on that I might struggle at first, it was fine, no jerky throttle all very smooth, I can tell the power is there for once I get some more miles under my belt but for now I am getting used to the bike and getting some experience, being on a bike for me has always been just enjoying the ride, the fresh air, im in no rush to get anywhere and ive no interest in riding fast

Already removed the tank stickers, changed the indicators to LED ones, and put black intake covers on to match the rest of the bike, new black tank badges going on soon

Looks ace that does. Get it sprayed with ACF50 if you're going to use it through the winter as there's lots of gubbins exposed to the elements.

You want to get it all over the bike (other than the bits you don't want it on obviously) before the weather turns as it needs to be in place already to protect it.

You want to do a really really thorough clean of the bike, every nook and cranny. Dry it as best you can, run the engine until the fan kicks in to get some heat into the radiator etc.. which will help dry all that off. Then the following day it should be pretty much dry; cover up all the important bits (wheels/brakes/pegs/grips/switchgear/levers etc..) and take the seat off. Then go at it with the ACF50. If you've got the squirty bottle, fill it then hang it in a large jug of very hot water for a good hour before you start - it sprays much better if it's hot. Be liberal and let it work into the nooks and crannies for a good half hour before going over the bike with a microfibre. Remove all the stuff covering your wheels/tyres etc.. and start her up. She'll smoke a fair bit as it bakes onto the hot bits - if it gets excessive I turn the engine off a bit then start it up again until the smoking gets under control. Never heard of a bike catching fire, but I am cautious. My Street Twin was much "calmer" - I think my VFR exhausts get very hot very quickly as it creates huge clouds of smoke very quickly!

It makes a lot of the bike greasy to touch, but it protects everything and helps stop nuts/bolts rusting up too.
