Went for a day out at the H&H auction with my bro and his mate yesterday.. He almost bought a Maico crosser but inspite of bidding above the lower guide price the seller didn't want to part - odd..

Anyhow the demographic was very interesting - at 57 I felt I was one of the younger group!

As for the sales shiney, Brit, Jap and Ducati sports sold well, exceptions were a nice 595 Daytona (£2000) and a very clean Ducati ST2 (1800 quid). The prize lot an MV Agusta 750 went for an eye watering £86000 plus buyers premium Shocked..

Some really odd shit too. a bunch of NOS 600 bandits, some still in cratees, went for over 5k plus buyer's prem so close on 6k for an old bike in a box... Seriously..?

Overall bargains were thin on the ground and we came away empty handed. Best buy IMO was a tattyish roadworthy R65 beemer which went for about 650 quid. My feeling is it was a forum for vintage dealers stocking up on stuff they know they can shift, thus odd balls like a 1930s Peugeots and a fun looking Motobecane 125 2t twin went low.

I see ZX9R went for only £1,265!

I can’t believe someone paid £4,600 for a wheel with a fuel tank on the top of it!

https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-373---c1910s-wall-auto-wheel/?lot=56836&so=0&st=&sto=0&au=519&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=1&pp=96&pn=3&g=1

And I see the ‘busa went for £18,400, for a 23 year old unused bike.

Blimey - I think I went for a cup of tea while the ZX9 was sold.

Yeah anything New Old Stock went for silly money IMO, given that you're buying potential issues. It must only be collectors - like those pillocks who collect dinky toys sealed in their boxes.. Rolling Eyes

I was there to bid on that Wall Wheel, my limit was £1k, I never even put my hand up.
