It was on kawasaki motors channel.
Z650 twin motor on Retro style like Z900RS.
I prefer these ordinary style to Z series style.

I think this will be more expensive than normal Z650.

-Good colour(green metalic)
-spoked style cast wheels
-detailed design than I expected.
-Handle bar is very high
-steps are a little bit backward
-Seat isn't ridiculously low and has enough thickness

but
-no fake fins on motor
-exhaust is short not like 900

accessories
-low seat
-usb socket under the seat etc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw5n5g0Llmg

This will be more expensive than normal Z650 for sure.
How much price difference between 650 and 900?
They were saying this bike is for new riders like A2 license holders.

edit
translation of young machine article says £7549 in UK(reference price).
Z650 is £6849 so plus £700.
https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ja&tl=en&u=https://young-machine.com/2021/09/27/246953/
edit(2)
It was already on kawasaki uk site and price was written.
£7549(black), £7649(green/grey+ebony)

Yeh?? Nice styling.
I’m sure that being a Kawasaki, it’ll be well sorted.
But at just under seven grand, I’ll give it a miss.

Pah a Z650 is an inline four form teh 70s . This looks like an ER6 in Dad's old jean jacket.

Isn't that also about Trident money?

It's £7549, not cheap for twin motor. Difference between Z650 is £700 but actual difference will be much more.
This may be good for a rider who wants Z900RS but it's too heavy or powerful for him/her.

I agree it's weird they call this revival of zapper and having ER6 twin motor. But also think if they make this inline four 650 from new, price will be very close to 900 and make it pointless.
edit: Oh you meant triumph trident 660. It's £7,395 so yes it's as same as trident 660.

650 twins are the in thing though eh ?

I suspect it's more to do with meeting EU laws. Same reason you can't buy an R6 / ZX6R in Europe.

I like it. I'm not sure about the swingarm and think they should have went full retro like the 900 but again, it's using Z650 underpinnings.

If it's anything like the 9, it'll sell like hot cakes.

Just watching the vid now. I like it tbh.

I love the 900rs, and I’ve just looked at the price difference. I can see 5000 reasons I’d go for the 650 over the 900!

Not a massive fan of the exhaust though, would rather they concentrate on a nice looking exhaust like the 900 rather than focusing on retro appropriate brake discs. Especially when they’ve nicked the indicators of the new super cub.

I’m sure they’ll sell thousands of them, maybe I’ll even get one.

So much this. It's just a modern twin with styling tweaks. If someone did this in his garage it would be in the ebay shit bikes thread.

Do not like.

Heading more in the direction of neo-retro. I'd imagine the next Z900RS might align more with this 650 model in the future Thinking

This is nearly as risible as that Triumph Bobber video where they're drag racing in a warehouse.

I get that bike companies "need" to make videos but holy fvcking shyte do they have to be so despicably cheesy?? It seems the answer is yes - invariably, yes they do. Sick Twisted Evil Sick

Aye, hipster idiots making graffiti - tossers. To be fair i don't mind the look of it but it aint a Z650 - call it something else. The Zephyrs (remember them!?) were closer to the 70s originals

I had a Zephyr 1100 for 9 yrs. One of the reasons I jumped at the Z900rs when it came out, it's a proper throwback, just fast and light with actual brakes lol.

Mixed feelings, all in all looks lovely, but looking lower the exhaust, swingarm and rad look a bit daft...and veeery similar to the trident actually..?

+1 for the zephyr doing a better job looks wise, but I suppose nowadays they're not going to risk either releasing older inferior tech or spend time redesigning old inferior tech, the point is for it to look as close as possible while retaining the good handling of the modern equivalent so people actually want to ride them, not just look at them.
The CB1100 is a good example, it's genuine, but loses performance wise compared the the competition, making it a bit of a niche imo (not saying it's a bad bike).

I think the only neo-retro bikes done right are the z900rs and honda's concept CB1000F.

I love my CB750, but hell if I wouldn't jump at the Z900rs or CB100F (if released) had I the budget.

Just realised I was looking at the price for the SE yesterday, the standard 900 looks more like a viable option, I’d happily have either

I know they’re only facsimiles of the classic bikes, but I want to use my bike to get to work and feel like I look cool doing it, CBA with fettling and keeping a classic going. These sort of bikes are made for people like me who just want to turn a key and ride, have warranty back up and let a garage do the servicing. Apart from oil changes, obvs.

Bud, the Z900rs is the best bike I've had in years. I love it.
I'd take a 1972 version to look at but I can't be arsed with classic bike faff anymore.

This I get totally. I tried an original Z1, and tbh, it was too tractor-like after more modern fare, not particularly enjoyable to ride at all, and I sold it on pretty quickly. I think the Z900RS captured the look nicely, and I'm sure will be much more enjoyable in use.

I would however go back for another original IL4 Z650. They aren't a bad ride at all, with the proviso that you do a suspension upgrade. Still would like to do a major project with one.
