Steering dampers

Is anyone aware of any companies that make a replacement steering damper for a GSXR750 K5 that fits in the original location?

I know there are aftermarket brands such as Hyperpro and Ohlins but they all appear to be mounted on the top yoke.

Mounted for ease of changing settings, why would you replace one and not amend it, having it hidden down there means its a faff to change.

Question really is why would you want to change it?

I suspect it's gone faulty, probably needs new fluid and maybe new heim bearing.

Wanted to explore my option before committing to a rebuild.

I had a look at options when I had my K5 thou. Found the same thing as you, every aftermarket one didn't use the original mounts.
