just went back out for some more wheelie practise following YAMSR6 advise about covering the rear brake and had a pants filling scenario happen to me! Shocked after about 30 minutes adjusting to small wheelies while covering the rear brake I realised one of my main problems was that I was keeping my arms too straight , kind of like locking them in position and holding on too tight so I come to grips with bending my arms as the front begins to lift but I was concentrating on bending my arms too much because I managed to almost flip it over I came so close I swear I almost sh*t my pants! I totally forgot about the rear brake and just headbutted the front screen and did the splits with both my feet pointed slighty forward, GREAT INSTINCTS hey guys! my heart is still beating like a frog in a sock and my hands are shaking like crazy, scary stuff I must be more careful I was traveling about 50 MPH and clutched it slightly in 2nd gear when the front shot up and kept going up Sick all I felt was a second or two of neutral rolling while staring at the screen before it come back to earth maybe I will calm down and try small first gear wheelies again before I try the big mingers. I don't ever want to experience that feeling again Wink

If you got to the balance point, then you've still got twice as far again to go!
Providing you stay scared like that you are very unlikely to flip it, it's when you get used to it floating along at height that you have the problems.
The height you want to be for sustained wheelies was probably the height you got to, or maybe even higher!

I never sorted getting those 'instincts' for the rear brake. One thing you can try as you're on a sports 600 (if I remember), is to bring it up with the rear brake on slightly, then use the rear brake to control height. This feels a lot more natural and hopefully will get you used to it.
