Hello,

I own a 50cc Speedfight 2 LC. [2008]
Could anybody give me some basic tuning advice for the moped?
It is my first vehicle and I do not know where to start the upgrades.
I've read on some forums that you should replace the exhaust first, whilst on other forums users have suggested starting with replacing the variator and rollers.

If anybody is knowlegeble in the topic of tuning 50cc's, could you please tell me where to start?
Which parts do i upgrade first and in what order.

I do not have the budget to go out an buy all the parts at once, so I'll be upgrading the scooter in stages - hence the question of what comes first.

Thanks very much.

The best advice?

Don't bother, save your money until you can ride a 125 and then take your test as soon as practicable so youbcan ride something with a reasonable level of power as standard.

To echo Nobby,
Dont bother

50's are shite
You'll see many many ads offering you 50cc tune up kits
promising magical performance in exchange for your dosh
but basically all you'll be doing is polishing turds with ten pound notes.
You got money to burn?
NO? then dont

If you're <17 then stick with it and learn/do basic servicing until you're 17 then get a 125

Even then you'll get frustrated and want 'Moar Powah!'

If you want to see what this forum thinks of tuning tiny engines, have a read of this thread: https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=333525

What they all said. You could spend a fortune on Polini (et al) shite 'tuning' that thing up and you would be rewarded with most likely 2-3mph in top end, along with ruined fuel economy and reliability.

Just learn your chops on it for a year and get a 125; even the worst shit Chinese 125 will be a million times better than a fifty, tuned or not.

It's not the answer you want to hear, but it's the answer you need. Just like everyone else has said: don't bother trying, you're not going to get enough extra power out a 50cc that you will even notice it.

Not even joking when I say this but on 50cc and 125cc bikes the biggest increase to performance you could possibly make is losing some weight Laughing

35mph or above on the speedo??

You're doing ok leave -it.

Less than 30mph? it needs a service air filter etc..

Thats it.

I know you're mates one pulls 50 uphill but we all know he's really a twat, right?

So you run it on nitromethane instead of petrol and it goes at 70mph... are you gonna also upgrade the suspension and brakes?
