Cheers guys, its my first post here.
Im looking to buy my first motorcycle and so far I would like an ER6-F .

But i also want to see if is there any motorcycle similar to it .
By similar i mean sport-tourer bike with less than 90hp .

I was looking at GSX600F but its kinda heavy (245kg wet)
for mostly city riding unlike er6-f ( 200 kg wet ).

Is there any other models that could fit ? sport, less than 90hp and under 215-220 kg ?

Alternative to ER6-F (found until now):
GSX600F (+45kg and +11hp)

Thanks,

Your better off explaining which license you have.

To a lot of us an er6 is a hateful thing full of pain and regret but depending on what license you have it may be the best available.

As well as budget.... No point in us recommending a 10k bike if you've only got 2 grand to spend.

There are lots of bikes that fit those criteria.

For the classically-styled side of things, you have the Triumph Street Twin and new Moto Guzzi V7 (also up to 10 years old includes older V7 and V9). Enfield 650 interceptor. Also worth mentioning the Enfield 500, but that's a very different kind of experience (slower, more likely to break down, but more "authentic").

Ducati nakeds - the newer scramber range, and the monster range which reaches back about 25 years.

Thinking about it, this is one segment where the non-Japanese factories have been doing particularly well over the last decade or so, and the Japanese offerings have been a bit disappointing.

SRX660 if you're prepared to have something older and wait for one to come up for sale.

What about a CBR600 F4i? Should be a few around, well within budget, and only slightly above what you want for power. Is the 90HP a hard limit?

The new Yamaha R7 seems to fit the bill.

CBF500 or CBF600 is perfect for that. Even the NC750

How do you get an a licence without never riding a bike before? You must have ridden one of a reasonable power just to pass your test.

Also. They only go as fast as you twist the grip. You can get in just as much trouble on a 90 bhp bike as you can on one with twice the power.

If this is your first bike you should probably setting for something around the 30-40 hp area. A 90hp bike will honestly feel the same as a 110hp bike to you....

How about an interceptor 650? Might get a used one in budget?

Versys are meant to be better riding than ER6s because they’ve got better suspension so might be worth a look? Or V Strom

This. 90hp will get you to 130+mph. It's all plenty fast enough for the road, so if you're willing to consider that, a few extra won't make any difference, it's all in your wrist control anyway. So I'm not being strict on the power limit. But your other requirement (and your considered options of ER6-F and GSX600F) is basically just a mid-size sports tourer. So -

ZZR600
YZR600 Thundercat
CBR600F
VFR750
VFR800
SV650
VTR1000 Firestorm

Most of the other options are too new, substantially heavier or 130+BHP, but MCN have a list here (take the MCN reviews with a hefty pinch of salt though) - https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/type-sports-tourer/

I’d be looking at a VStrom or Versys 650.
You can pick them up quite cheap and they go forever

Mate of mine has one. It's a good looking thing in the red/white/blue colourscheme and has pretty decent build quality. It's a good ride - typical Honda, competent at everything, if a little uninspiring. But wind it up and it's a decent giggle.

It's a good first bike - it does what it says on the tin. Within the post I'm quoting (but cut down for brevity) you're saying you don't want something with 100 horsepower. It's rare you get something that's 'perfect' when you've got compromises be it experience, weight concerns, budget issues, whatever.

Likewise, bikes like the Interceptor might tickle your looks box but underneath it the CBF600 or CB600F whatever it is will absolutely trash it in terms of capability. So you compromise again.

You'll have it a year - it'll light your pants up when you pin it for that time and then you'll pick something else to move onto that suits what you want to do when you've got a bit more experience.

In other words, might be best swallow a bit of pride - get something that's a good practical bet for a first bike, gain some experience and then see how you feel.

Secondhand BMW F800ST probably fits your cost, power and sport-tourer requirements..

I test rode one after owning an ER6f.. it was fine, but I chose a Triumph Sprint ST1050 which was better still (but significantly over your power budget).

Really? I wouldn't have that down as a particularly noob friendly machine.

VTR1000 tends to run out of petrol before it's going fast enough to crash.

Until now, I had totally forgotten about that mechanical rev limiter.
