It doesn't look good for probably the greatest Lady since Queen Elizabeth 1.

Being a royalist, a patriot, a veteren of 2 gulf wars (yes, I have veterens medals from those wars )

I am really worried about what will happy when the Queen dies. There isn't much glue holding this country together and if Charles tries to become king I doubt it will end well.

William needs to be the next King with Kate as the person who is the best lady of the realm since Diana. In fact better than she was.

To all those that think Royalty doesnt matter, look at America and the rest of the republics . Woulkd you rather Elizabeth II as your nominal head of state, or some cunt like Biden, Macron. What a fright.

In reality i can aee the end of an era, of a life, of a country I love. Im almost crying at what the future dictates. Thankfully I'm old and ill. You can have the future, I'm crying over the past.

Edited for Z's Embarassed

Have to agree and have been thinking the same for quite a few years now.

There is no person who comes close to QEII, in anything...

Sadly the fucks that abolished the monachy as rulers, just so happen to be doing an even shittier job of runnng the country themselves.

As long as Charles and Wills don't get bumped off together in a terrorist plot we'll be fine...

Not a fervent monarchist but Constitutional monarchies tend, on balance, to be rather
stable democracies nowadays.
I reckon Charles should pass and let Wills and Kate have go as long they dont let
that tiresome bleating Haz and Meg duo back in.
I can only stand so much hypocrisy.

The USA in comparison, what a fuck up
330 million people and they still cant choose a pres who isnt a feckin embarrasment.

I'm not a royalist, but I do have respect for the old bird. She has seen more than any of our political class and I imagine she exerts a steadying influence over whichever muppet happens to be PM.

As for a replacement, it will be Charles as the eldest son. Gawd forbid anything happens to him before mater dies, otherwise according to Google it'll be someone called the 'Duke of Cambridge', whichever chinless wonder/paedo/pussy-whipped ginger idiot son that is.

Whoa..... Hold on there a minute.

Don't get all romantic over it.

The monarchies of old shat on the peasants from high alters since time immemorial.

Canon Fodder.

Auld Queenie may be made of better metal but they are a bit out of touch. Have never been in touch with society.

In-Breeding et al.

I admire the Pomp and Circumstance, Trooping of Colours, Royal Tattoos and that. And an Orange Walk is a spectacle too.

There is no constitutional way to remove yourself from succession so Charles will become king when lizzie karks it.

What happened with Edward VIII then. I thought he abdicated?

He became king before he abdicated

The next person in succession becomes ruler. If they chose to renounce it thats another matter entirely.

Quite frankly, I am Republican (in that I think the ultimate head of state should be elected), however, I do admit to having great respect for Elizabeth: she has lived an extraordinary life and I think she has a love for the country and it’s people.

I also had a lot of respect for the Duke of Edinburgh. Like him or not the man devoted a lot of his life to fundraising and raising awareness for various charities.

Careful what you wish for...

One one side we have Queen Liz, arguably the most successful monarch in history and on the other we have President Biden supposedly the most popular president in history Shocked
