By god we have some scumbags for politicians today.

Owen Patterson sells his soul for 13 pieces of silver and the Tories try and change the rules to save him. Thankfully he has now resigned but blames it on others saying he wants a life "outside the cruel world of politics". Nothing about him selling his integrity.

Then we have Claudia Webbe, a lovely piece of work already kicked out of the Labour party handed suspended sentence after threatening partner's female friend with acid.

What the hell has this country come to.

Oh, and as an aside on sentencing, a non descript male person posting racist remarks about football players on FB gets a 10 week actual prison sentence but a black woman in the public theartre threatening to throw acid in someones face gets of with a 10 week suspended sentence?

I didn't put the bit on sentencing to start a dicussion on racism. More how a politician gets off a prison sentence when threatening actual bodily harm (female and black PROBABLY has some effect on that) when a male posting racist statements on FB actually goes to jail.

If anything, the politician should get a much stiffer sentence just because they are a public figure.

As for Paterson, good riddance. Pity Cameron didn't get some punishment for his lobbying on behalf of that defunct finance firm he had his snout into as well.

I hadn't realised there was more to the latest Claudia Webbe thing than just the threat of acid. She sent naked pictures of this rival to her family too.

How on Earth can anyone just a ten week suspended sentence, which basically means nothing, when others who committed similar crimes, even lesser ones, get proper prison time?

I like how her lawyer actually pulled a race card on the judge, asking them to go easy on the poor, persecuted black woman, in a white court.

Apparently the judge reminded her council that she wasn't the victim in this case. Priceless!
