Posted: 21:33 - 01 Dec 2021 Post subject: Replacement from stock exhaust advice - ER6n |
|
|
Hi All,
A bit of advice please and I am sure to many it will seem a bit daft.
I've had an ER6n since new its a 2008 and I use it to commute on.
I've gone through about 4 exhausts since new, I ride pretty much all year round apart from snow/ice etc. Each exhaust replacement has been with a stock exhaust i.e. Kawasaki code 18091/A .
I've had a look on ebay and I can't see a decent second hand one and a replacement new is about £600.
This is too much. A quick google search gives me options.
I've seen a Black Widow Exhaust , which is remarkably cheap.
Its obviously a different mount and I presume looking at the picture all the little mounting things etc, will hold it in place.
But I am concerned about connecting it to my downpipes and the oxygen sensor. Do I need some sort of oxygen sensor eliminator.
When i've changed the stock exhaust before , i've needed to buy a gasket muffler this being kawasaki code 18140 . Which now look difficult to get hold of. (but it simply a crush device, which creates a seal, so perhaps there is another alternative).
This is the exhaust I am interested in.

This is the schematics

Any advice greatly appreciated. ____________________ I've a twin and a 4. |

Quite amazed the stock exhuasts are going that fast, the full system or just the silencer?
Delkevic also have fairly cheap silencer offerings.

Thanks for that Tdibs, I've bought that one and its coming Monday, I prefer it being stainless steel rather than black. ____________________ I've a twin and a 4. |

Sounds like you need some ceramic coating on the pipes. And not riding across the Dead Sea to commute ____________________ DILLIGAF |
