You're gonna have perished seals all over the shop on it. I can imagine it being a cheap bike that turns into an expensive one quickly, only without the resale value.

Already a classic and bound to appreciate in value then, especially if red and white. Would you consider it a long term investment (even if you still ride it) or simply a quick to fix, cheap litre bike to tide you over. A scruffy but rideable 4xv would seem reasonable to me at £2k (tops). Bodywork condition could be key.

Is the 00 not second generation? Maybe not worth so much. Saying that £2k is not much money for a bike like that. I used to have a blue 99, sold it for 1650 about 7 years ago. Would have got a lot more for it these days. What I'm finding in general is that older bikes just simply don't lose value.
