Like I said it cost me like £200 for peace of mind. I'm happy with that.
That included valve clearanes and I think tranmission oil although not 100% on that.

You do know that the engine oil and the transmission oil are the same thing on a BMW bike?

£200 for piece of mind when you've just bought it from a fucking dealer is madness.

If you don't trust the dealer don't buy it from them in the first place. You've basically invalidated any warrenty you had with them by having work like that done because they'll just blame the person who did the work.

Something like a ABS pump can only be fitted one way so it';s a no-brainer.

Possibly talking about shaft drive oil?

pretty sure it was gear oil.

@Nobby.
My warranty was 28 days. It runs out in like 5 days I got the bike looked at like a week ago. I do not think I know enough about these bikes to know if something is wrong with it.

Also as for the ABS Pump. These parts costs like £1500+ new I wanted to make sure it was done right. Although chances are a used one was put on.
But again, you know how to put an ABS pump on clearly. I dont lol.

Like I said, people often pay to get their bikes/cars looked over by a professional. I do not think it is unreasonable when you do not know a lot about maintaining your bike.

According to the comments. Some of the newer beemers gearboxes do share the engine oil. But as my one is a 07 it doesnt.

So all in all, it sounds like most of the horror stries about Superbike Factory are true, or at least have a good portion of truth in them

It does seem daft to be paying dealer money for a bike, and then having to pay someone else to make sure you didn't buy a nail, and then pay them again to perform another service on it

Pretty much the only reason anyone buys from a dealer (over buying privately) is because they generally come freshly serviced, freshly MOT'd and with a reasonably lengthy warranty, none of which you appear to get with SBF

Nope you bought form a dealer so you get 6 months anyway - sale of goods act 2015 and all that, like.

Hand

Warranty is not the same as statutory rights.

Yup, nazi tractor owner here. The hexhead air/oil cooled bikes have seperate engine, gearbox and final drive oil. The newer liquid cooled ones introduced in the boxer bikes around 2016ish have combined engine and gearbox oil.

with regard to Superbike Factory, friend bought a bike from them once and overall it was fine but they were a bit of a hassle to deal with, insisted on a £100 document and inspection fee on top of the bike price despite not actually inspecting or cleaning the bike, also threw a hissy when we arranged to collect it on a certain date and then wehad the audacity to turn up on that date, saying the bike wasn't ready yet. Got soprted on the day after a bit off faff and we took the bike in the end, but still more stress than it should have been.

My mates BBQ bike that set on fire was out of the 30 days 'warranty' period, but after telling him what to say (CRA, fit for purpose within 6 months) and they sorted him out, he was happy just to change the bike for a lesser value one.

It would all depend on the individual deal, if SBF were cheaper by a good margin then I'd buy from them even with their policy of no test rides etc. as consumer rights act gives you some chance of getting issues dealt with. I'd probably arrange my own finance beforehand, and might even put a deposit down with credit card, as that makes the credit card company jointly liable for any future issue.

If a main dealer bike was similarly priced then they'd probably get the deal, due to better expertise and backup.

I can take some pics If you want and you can judge if I got a good deal lol

My gsa cost me £6000
I went for the superbike factory one because it had all the panniers, crashbars, hand protectors, basically all the after market parts you can put on a GS.
Which can be expensive.

£6000 for a 2007 bike is alot of money though so idk haha.

I've had two bikes from the Factory without any issues, There are dogs in there, but like anywhere, you look and check it over.

Someone on the 1050 Sprint Facebook group has just had their Sprint delivered from Superbike Factory.

It came with different coloured wheels from the photos in the ad. And a flat battery.

Quality.

Nearly took a shot at a bike from them last year. So glad I didn't.

Tbf they are not that bad. They just are not great.

I guess that's what you want though a great dealer. Which can sometimes be hard, when you are after a very specific bike.

The dealers that used to be really bad for taking 'misleading' photographs was DK Motorcycles. I had to google if they were still going (which they are) so I presume they have cleaned up their act as I haven't heard of any rants about them recently.

Had a quick gander and noticed a lot of the bike were still filthy, one even had a mirror loose/installed incorrectly.
Sort of things you would think they would fix before taking the promo photos.

Pretty good prices though, I would certainly have to go view before buying.

I know the place that did the mot's for them they still do if they need them doing. Lets just say that garage would just collect the bikes and then send them back with a full mot certificate. I've also known people to buy bikes from them which have been shocking state and taken ages to actually fix the bikes. Lets just say if I was looking in the second hand bike market * I'd rather go to DK motorcycles and that's saying something as I wouldn't trust them at all.

*Which now the person that caused my crash has admitted full responsibility and is being convicted; I actually might be looking for a second hand bike now.
