Nice condition, looks to be all original, doesn't look like it will need very much spending on it, only 2000 miles. Thumbs Up

Are you going to have a bid on it?

Good luck if you do.

Now that's a bike I'd grudgingly admit to the 'Classic' category

I'm a bit puzzled why the listing has 2016 for a 1981 bike tho'

OK I'm a cheap bastard, but two grand for that Corgi seems a lot
When V5 or not it really isn't fit for todays roads.
BTW it will fold up, you can drop the bars and seat

I don't go for that 'old means it's good' bullshit
its basically a toy.
Tiny, under powered, shit brakes and lights, no suspension
Be OK for a circus clown to ride I spose

I've seen a 1950 Veloctte LE on Ebay for less than that
which would be lot more suitable and safer ( and fun!) to actually ride.

My thoughts exactly - a clean, running late model FZ750 with less than 50K on the clock sold for 750 quid in the last day or two.. its not like teh Corgi is even a war relic.

Here is a pretty majestic machine if you like cruisers. Hard to beat the performance/cost value of a bike like this. Basically a VFR cruiser, these engines are robust and long lived. At $2600 USD, I think that this bike could be an excellent value for someone willing to invest a little time and effort to return it to roadworthy condition.

This got me thinking.. The Cruiser like thing here is a big 'if'.. Alongside teh oversized Oldsmobiles cars etc the Cruiser style evolved in and for America.. it really has nevre been a European thing with our narrow and windy roads (for te most part). That's probably why Cruiser rider are often derided here. They are viewed as trying to 'Ape' an American lifestyle.. I wouldn't by one in the same way I wouldn't wear a Stetson hat or carry a sidearm.

Interestingly though the SUV/ADV bike has provided some common ground and manufacturers have realised this genre is more of a one size fits all

As for the VF750C - its undoubtedly good value But its appeal it probably greatest in Californ-i-ah.

We're all so snooty about "American" cruisers but it doesn't seem to go the other way. Yanks have nothing but love for Triumphs Thinking

Interesting commentary here. Sure, we have oversize automobiles because we have oversize roads and oversize parking spaces; but that has been fading away for maybe 20 years now. Big-ass SUVs built on truck platforms (Suburban, Expedition, etc) have fallen out of style in favor of Prius and Tesla. Probably a good thing.

As for cruisers, bikers here are pretty divided over that as well, and my observation is that cruiser riders are derided on most motorcycle forums, and especially sportbike forums. Form over function is my opinion of cruisers, it's about style. Driveway jewelry. But, given the amount of chat focused on bikes like the Keeway Superlight, I'd be inclined to disagree with you about it never being a European thing. Maybe it's just perception, but that's my view.

I tend to agree with Easy-X about Triumphs. To me, they are the "anti-Harley". Cool

I owned one in Zimbabwe, cost me Z$50 in 83. It was fun to thrash about the bush on but I spent as much time on the floor after falling off as I did riding the thing.

Every time I check the local listings, I seem to wind up back at this one. Not as desirable as the 305cc CA77 Superhawk or Scrambler, but nice nevertheless. Especially at this owner's asking price. No title is a bit of a put-off, but that is a hurdle that can probably be overcome. Low cost entry into vintage japanese motorcycle ownership for those who appreciate the lightweight twins of the 1960's; who never got on the UJM bandwagon.

Does it depend on the State you live in with regards to getting a temporary/replacement title?

Yes, I'm sure it does. The states are like 50 fiefdoms in that regard.
After my dad died, I took his pickup to register in California. I had his bequest and his death certificate in hand when I went to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles. No. They made me go back to Oregon, get an Oregon title in my name, then bring the Oregon title to California. Only then would they register the vehicle in California. Often times I'll see out of state vehicles for sale here. I'll never buy one, the hassle is not worth it.

Similar hassle between Canadian provinces. I brought a 2016 KTM 1190 in Alberta for $2k less than the going price in Saskatchewan.

To register l had to get an official VIN search done at a SGI (Saskatchewan government insurance) office in person followed by a mechanical inspection (which the retard who carried out failed the bike on a bald front tire, which still had over 3mm left and was apparently bald between the tread blocks on a TCK70 Rolling Eyes ).

Then finally l had to pay 6% used vehicle sales tax in person after they called a SGI employee in another city who has a paper book with market values. This employee was on a coffee break so we had to wait 15 mins for him to return as no one else is allow to use the book. Then after another 15 mins he was unable to find KTM 1190 in his book which is probably years out of date so he made up a reasonable market value to tax me with.

Why not Quebec? Language barrier? Attitude?
Montreal is a cool town. Best hockey in Canada and a damn good football team. Dude, if you can speak hockey, you'll be accepted anywhere in Canada. Wink

Alberta for sure though Sask is a close second, Manitoba is a muddy swamp and all other provinces are more far-left and overpopulated. Quebec for all its negatives is the most motorcycle friendly province and the women are smoking hot.

Would also have to be small town/rural 30-45 mins from a city and nowhere near a reserve.

Alberta has

Arrow No provincial sales tax

Arrow More work opportunity's

Arrow Less harsh winters

Arrow Cheaper booze

Arrow Cheaper and more choice of vehicles

Arrow Next to the Rockys (less flat prairies)
