Been trying to get in to .22rf target shooting for while now.

Absolutely love it.

From 50m can hit a .223 casing in the neck most times with a 10/22. And even stretched it out too 100m but that was going past the scopes limit. Full elivation and still 8in above center.

The missus loves clays with her daughter. But also pretty good with the .223 long range.

I have a shotgun license but don't shoot much at all really. Tried a bit of .22 target shooting a few years ago but the closest club was really small and it took so long to wait for your turn to shoot that I only did something like 20 rounds a night. I'd love to have some farmland to shoot on where it's a bit more relaxed.

More interested in archery at the moment. I do that about once a week, maybe more in the summer and can shoot up to around 70m so fairly decent distances. Hoping to get into doing competitions this year which is something I should have done sooner since I've been doing it since I was a teenager.

Been shooting all my life.

Currently only use .22rf (Tika T1X) and an old Voere .243 for deer.

Less stalking these days as I'm veggie now.

Gave up my shotgun a few months ago due to a sight issue in my right eye.
Had a Browning so have enough cash now to learn how to play golf instead lol.

Been looking for a pistol for a while, fell out with the FEO about wanting one for HD so might get black powder to piss them off haha.

Also looking at a lever action for if I need to shoot leftie in future.

Used to have .22LR and 7mm WSM on FAC Sec 1. Farmer sold his land to a house builder so I lost my "good reason" for Sec 1. Still have a Hatsan Escort on FAC Sec 2, used to do clays when the CLA gamefair was a thing.

Not that keen on clays, mainly because the missus and her daughter kick my arse everytime we go.

That DTL is another story though. That shit is hard.

Only shooting l did back in the UK was in the reserves. Was almost impossible for me to get licensed due to some naughty behavior when young.

Though when l moved to Canada l had no issues getting my non-restricted (semi auto rifles/rifles/shotguns) and restricted (pistols/short barreled semi-autos/AR15,s etc).

Currently have a descent size collection, though l focus on WW1/WW2 firearms and 19th century black powder.

l am also in a rural area and with 160 acres of land that my house sits on unfortunately l am right next to a town of 400 people so only shoot shotguns/black powder firearms on my land. I can legally shoot 500 meters away from the nearest house in town but it will only cause trouble and unwanted attention if l start blasting away with rifles.

My father in law farms around 5000 acers around the town and further away, so l have a range setup on some remote land that allows me to shoot steel gongs/targets out to 1000+ yards.

Currently have the following.

Winchester model 12 shotgun (28 inch barrel 12 gauge)
Remington 870 (18 and 12 inch barrels 12 gauge)

Cooey model 39 (bolt 22lr)
Savage Mark II heavy barrel (bolt 22lr)
Pietta little badger (singe shot 22 mag)
Pietta PPS50 (semi auto 22lr) *ppsh 41 copy*
Savage A22 (semi auto 22lr)
Ruger 10/22 (semi auto 22lr)

Kel-tec RDB (semi auto 5.56)
WK180C (semi auto 5.56)
Mossburg MVP (bolt 5.56)
VZ58 (semi auto 7.62x39)
x3 Russian SKS`s (semi auto 7.62x39)
Chinese SKS (semi auto 7.62x39)

AR102 (semi auto 7.62x51)
CZ 557 Ranger (bolt 7.62x51)

1917 Winchester Enfield P14 (bolt .303 British)
1941 Lithgow Lee Enfield No1 Mk3 (bolt .303 British)
1942 Long branch Lee Enfield No4 Mk1 (bolt .303 British)
1944 BSA Lee Enfield No4 Mk2 (bolt .303 British)
1945 Fazakerley Enfield No5 Mk1 (bolt .303 British) *Jungle Carbine*

1939 Mosin–Nagant Model 1891/30 (bolt 7.62x54R)
1941 SVT-40 (Semi auto 7.62x54R)
1942 Mosin–Nagant Model 1891/30 Sniper (bolt 7.62x54R) *for sure has seen combat, Stalingrad maybe?*
1944 Mosin–Nagan M44 (bolt 7.62x54R)

1903 M93 Swedish Mauser (bolt 6.5x55 Swedish)
1941 Automatgevär m/42 (semi auto 6.5x55 Swedish)
1953 Yugoslavian M48 Mauser (bolt 8x57)

1861 Enfield musketoon (muzzle loader .557 minie-ball)
1886 martini Henry (single shot .577/450 Boxer-Henry)

Only pistol l had was a 1911A1 government in 45 ACP but l sold that a few years ago as l couldn't legally shoot it on my land.

I got back into archery pre-pandemic, there's a great little club near me that basically have their own wooded hillside. I went down the traditional route and got as far as making my own arrows (but not my own bows). If you're looking at competition I found that field and 3d archery are loads more fun than target archery, though decent clubs and shoots for them are rarer.

I've shot a load of different firearms in other countries, but I've only ever done clay pigeon in the UK really. I went a few weeks ago with some friends and they let us try a 3-shot pump action which was good fun. I have a couple of friends who are gun club members but it's not worth the hassle involved, for me. I do wish there were ranges in the UK, like the US (and elsewhere), where you can just go and try a load of different guns under close supervision.

I used to shoot air rifles regularly until my local range closed.
I still have five air rifles, two of which are Co2 to HPA conversions, two springers, one underlever, one break barrel and my trusty AirArms S410 carbine.
I still like to have a plink in the back garden now and again but its only around 25 yards so not much of a challenge to put pellet on pellet.
I've done a bit of pest control in various locations but nothing on a regular basis.
I've also taken part in a fair few FT competitions over the years with a load of members of a shooting forum.

Done a bit of .22 on police ranges.
SLR and GPMG on ranges.

That's it.

"With a magazine of 20 rounds, load!"
"10 rounds deliberate fire, 10 rounds rapid. Fire!"
"Weapon firing, weapon stops!"
Cock, hook and look. Rounds in the magazine, no rounds in the chamber.
Release working parts, carry on firing.
"Weapon firing, weapon stops again!"
Cock, hook and look. Rounds in the magazine, no rounds in the chamber.
Something about two clicks on the gas plug.

Twas a while ago Laughing

I'm an NSRA Club Instructor for air rifle & pistol. I'm good, but not the best - usually at about 10% (if there are 300 entrants, I'll be around 30th) in the national championships I go to annually (not the last 2 years, for some reason...). I can teach you well though!

Whatever the question, an Ithaca M37 pump action shot gun is usually the answer. Smile

I have several scatterguns, a semi auto, 2 M37s and a bolt action .410. For balance, the Mrs also owns a semi auto.

Only shoot clays but only use the pump action too, gets some odd looks at the clay ground but it's just so much fun and worth it for the sound alone.

Recently, well within the last couple of years, a black powder 18th century duelling pistol. I'm glad it wasn't a real duel as well as I missed. Laughing

Edited to add, I have a pistol crossbow set up to shoot fish on my boat. Does that count?

when I was a kid, could turn up at the gun club with my dad, and just shoot a .22 rifle. Could you imagine the hoo-ha if that happened these days?

I was quite a good shot actually, but only prone. Standing up I didn't score so well.

This country is going like the US. There are 'range riders' everywhere these days.

Few members a talk to at different clubs have said, during covid. Theh were sat in cars in a queue, then were given a chance.
Moment time slor was up they were kicked out and threatened with police and stuff if they, said anything but yes.

Translation:
A few of the chaps I hang out with reckoned that during COVID they sat queuing in their cars until someone said they could go in.

Then once their allotted time was finished they were told to fuck off or the club would report them to the rozzers.
