Hi everybody today was a very exciting day (for me at least) at it was new bike delivery day. The last six years have pretty rough (financially) & I'm sick of missing out & going without because someone wants to pinch my money. Anyway (sorry for the sob story) back in September last year I was very fortunate to land a very lucrative contract below is one of the fruits of it. Delivered this morning I'm just waiting for the rain to abate before I can get out on it. Why did I choose this bike? Because I haven't owned a "proper bike" in sometime just thought it would be a good one to get back into it. I'm going to enjoy myself this summer. Twisted Evil

very nice mate, I'm totally not jealous at all Crying or Very sad

I know people didn't like the cyclops look when the MT-07 was unveiled but I really love how it looks. Such a sexy bike.

Thanks it's one of those things that doesn't carry off too well in pictures but in the flesh it looks good.

The missus tried an MT-07 last year and absolutely loved it. She's spent half the winter trying to work out how to sort the finances so she can replace her SV650 with one. Congrats, looks lovely!

Odd you mention that I won a full akrapovic system on eGay last week. Wasn't intending to fit it until I've run the bike in though.

Probably sensible Smile At least you won't need to worry about seized header nuts & studs when you get to it.

Top tip: it's an easy job if you have a socket extension and knuckle otherwise you'll need to loosen up the rad (leave the pipes connected) to get a bit more room.

Lovely bike, enjoy. Nothing better than getting back out on the bike. Glad your financial situation has improved, that always helps.

Throughout last summer I collected a few little mods for the MT07 (before I even got the bike) which I fitted yesterday (between rain showers). I don't recommend people do that just in case they change their mind on the bike they're going to get but I had my heart set on this bike & was pretty focused on obtaining one.

Anyway first off I fitted a Puig screen. Doesn't really do much about the wind blast but looks nice, is very well made & comes with a fitting kit but way overpriced at £130!

Rad protector to protect the rad. A bit like cuprinol does exactly what it says on the tin. Cheap & easy to fit.

Dash screen protector from speedo angels. You can't really see it but it's there.

Shorty levers, cheap Chinese ones but they work well.

Crash mushrooms, double up as paddock stand bobbins.

Last but not least a tail tidy. I was originally going to make my own but these ones were so cheap on eBay there wasn't any point.

Very nice mate, looks really clean with that tail tidy. I changed the screen on my ER-6F to one that's a clear 110mm taller than the stock screen and it's made fuck all difference to wind blast that I can feel but it does look nicer than the kwak standard one.

Just noticed the heatshield on the exhaust, that's new. Can't say that it's ever been an issue on my bike, accidently brushing up against a hot exhaust Thinking

Nice bike - congrats on the purchase.

I've got the same engine-d R7 that can apparently share a lot of the same parts as the Mt-07.

Can you send a link to the tail tidy you used?

Thanks

Hi thanks, I don't have a link but if you type in the search field on eBay J-tech tail tidy for an MT-07 you should find it. Thumbs Up

I'd get the back wheel out and spray some ACF-50 or similar inside the swing arm asap - they rust for fun.

That was mine after 2 years.

Nice bikes, but not the best finished.

Hi they are built to a price but for that price you get a lot. Thanks for the heads up I'm aware of the rust issues on the swingarm but I think they've sorted it now, besides I have a friend who owns a coatings company. Wink
