It might save your life!

“There is also potential for the nose to obscure vision and at a junction a motorcyclist is easily lost”

I think mobile phones also obscure vision.....

I'm not sure the X-Y-Z generations actually have any peripheral vision, they'd do much better with a pair of glasses that convert all images into gaming senarios and characters.

See different things?

Car drivers see fuck all. Motorcyclists see the car that's about to hit them cos the car driver wasn't paying attention.

Nose blocks your vision? Sure if you only have 1 eye and don't turn your head.. Rolling Eyes

The report author is also advocating deploying the "SMIDSY Weave", although she doesn't mention by name. It's been discussed before on this forum and is certainly something I use myself on occasions

Laughing that's me riding normal, dodging all the potholes & drain covers. Hopefully they'll think I'm completely useless and give me space, that is of course, if they can get their heads outta their phones long enough.

Judging by your posts about pandemics it wouldn't be much of a loss if they didn't see you.

This isn't the first study I've heard of coming out with this, I've been telling new riders the same for years. Nice if you get a PhD from pointing out that primitive man was wary of mammoths but not mice and we're the same in a car when we see a bus or a bike!

If I think the driver at the junction I am approaching has not seen me I give the bars a little wiggle - seems to get their attention better then just riding straight.
