I've recently go a 2000 Honda CB600F Hornet, but do find the suspension lacking. I just want to know if anyone knows the spring rate as Im thinking about changing springs and oil to RSF line. I believe the OEM are prograssive, Will it be worth upgrading to Hyperpro or go with linear rated k-tech?.

Go on racetechs site here:
https://racetech.com/ProductSearch/12/Honda/CBR600F4/2000

They don't have hornets but that's going to be pretty close.

Scroll down to "fork springs and kits". Click on "calculate spring rates". Plug your details into the calculator and it'll give you an appropriate linear spring rate. You'll then be able to find springs of that rate somewhere.

I'm a big fan of having the correct linear springs, one of the best mods I did to my bike.

Thanks for the replay. I've used the racetech before, it recomends 0.83kg/mm (or about 8N). just wanted to see if anyone knows the exact OEM sping rate as Its seems really soft, static sag is quite high and but also the top end of the travel feels harsh. I've used hyperpro in my other (now sold ER6N bike) which seemed to work quite well. Maybe I should look at the springs in the forks to see what really is in there, been over hauled before I purchased the bike. Would you recommend getting a slightly softer spring (8N) or slightly harder (8.5N)?, I'll be looking at k-tech line.

different grades of oil will have a noticeable affect on the forks too.

Racetech tells you the stock spring rate when you use the calc:
Stock Front Spring Rate: 0.75 kg/mm (stock).

Also just changed my Sv650 springs to k-tech with RSF pro oil, but cant comment on them yet as I haven't rode it.

I think i'd go for k-tech 8.5N springs and RSF 10W and see how that feels. Would you keep stock oil hight or try 120mm or so, race tech recommends 130mm with 5w on 2000 CBR600. I'm also thinking about upgrading the rear shock for a YSS shock.

Yes.

K tech springs and either a piston kit or yss pd valve depending on whether it's cartridge or damper rod forks.

I have one of each and they make a MASSIVE difference.

I have the YSS shock as well and am impressed.

Recently added the YSS pd valves to my CBF500 and they're utterly incredible. Damping is night and day better.
