Has Aprilia stopped making the rs125? Are the new poggiali reps the last? I know that all two stroke engines are being phased out in the next couple of years and that is why the nsr has been replaced. One final question will all 50's have to be 4 strokes in the next couple of years? Because thats going to be even more funny than it is now they'll probably only do 35mph tops! derestricted Razz

Hi

I have not heard that they have stopped making them. However they will probably soon be owned by Piaggio who also own Derbi, and Derbi have just launched a 2 stroke 125 sports bike.

2 strokes as such have not been banned, they will just have to meet the new emisions regulations. If Aprilia get the DiTech system working on the 125 engine then this would be easy.

All the best

Keith

Ummm and I've just bought a new one... Rolling Eyes

I heard the same as Kickstart a wee while back that Piaggio were thinking about buying them out. I know they've had money problems. Even if they do stop making the RS, you could probably still pick them up at places. Where I'm buying mine they had new NSR's there and they've been gone a while now.

It's not the RS125 thats coming to an end. It's the RS250. This years batch is the last batch. It's on their site somewhere. Thats where i read it.

Not strictly true. They did stop the road version but they have produced a track version with light-weight bodywork and zausts, and AFAIK they have now stopped producing that too.

Hi

They proposed building the race version but Suzuki had already stopped production of the engine and could not supply any more.

All the best
