I've replaced my OEM kneepads with some D3O items... they're really comfortable and am very happy with them; the trouble is the OEMs were held in position with Velcro (hook-and-loop) fastenings and the D3Os don't have this. I've tried glueing some on (EvoStick impact adhesive) but it's pretty rubbish and doesn't last any time at all.

Has anyone managed this successfully? If so, what adhesive?
Wondering about trying to stitch the Velcro on but worried I'll screw up the pads.

I am pretty sure you can pass a needle through D30, stitching it on might actually be a viable option.

I had a similar failure when trying to add some velcro to an
over/rain type jacket with Evostik.
there may be some much better adhesive for all I know
The snags as I see them are velcro tends to peeled off
rather than all the hooks and loops being seperated at once
so the force is concentrated in successive small areas which peels the adhesive apart

It did occur to me that as well as adhesive I could have tried adding a few stitches of
Polyester ( not cotton) thread here and there to give to give it some mechanical support.
A few small stitches around the periphery especially the ends shouldn't have too adverse an effect on the hooks and loops

Motolegends sell D3O ghost and SAS-TEC with Velcro on

I've just glued some heavy duty velcro, which already is adhesive on the back, with UHU fabric glue, to some SAS-TEC armour, seems very well stuck down but early days I suppose

My go to adhesive for this type of thing is 'Shoo Goo' it's meant for shoe repair but is sticks like the proverbial and remains flexible.

I just glued some new velcro pieces to my jacket's cuffs - I used the clear Gorilla glue and it worked really well. My jacket's only cheap - £40 - but it's warm and the only thing wrong with it after about 20k miles was the velcro had stopped working. I bought some velcro strips for a quid or two, unpicked the stitching of the old ones, and just glued the new ones directly onto the textile of the jacket.

My £40 quid trouser cuffs went the same way over winter, and I just did the same to those last week. It's made them look new again because that was the only thing wrong with them.

You can get some very useful, strong and warm gear for not much money these days.

You could try 3M VHB pads to stick it to the armour. It's like slightly rubbery double sided sticky tape. It's what people use to stick action cameras to helmets and F1 cars.

Use tape that trucks are made from.

Just revisiting this as I found the solution, in case it's of any use to anyone...

I tried out Stinkwheel's 3M pads as it sounded quite inspired (and hey, I had a couple lying around) - no good sadly as the armour flexes too much. I actually found the answer buried deeply on the corporate D3O website in a techie PDF file: https://www.d3o.com/media/1160/d3o-bonding-guide.pdf - for bonding to "fabrics" should you use "Loctite 4850, Loctite 401 and most cyanoacrylate glues". I used a standard superglue which I happened to have in the house... would never have occurred to me to try it but I have to say it's worked like a charm Thumbs Up
