Anyone had any replies or correspondence back about refunds either from the Joint Administrators or from the FSCS? I got an e-mail from FSCS saying they were going to consider my claims (one for each of my policies) but then received moving in the past three months...

Now that you mention it, I don't think I've had a refund yet ... my memory is a bit fecked after dying on January the 9th mind you ... they managed to get me back Thumbs Up

I've checked previous emails and they all say my insurance was disclaimed on January 31st, and if I'm due a refund it'll be processed sometime after February 1st .... but nothing since then as far as I can see (should be due around 2 months or so refund)!

Also, I did get insured again with MCE via Sabre Insurance, but I keep getting emails saying I'm not insured!!

All the best ... Barry

Shocked Crikey! What happened there, then?

Do you think the Administrators will accept a claim on that?
Try 'em, go for the sympathy vote Wink Thumbs Up

^^^ Had gone for a fish supper and was 15 yards away from my front door when the old ticker stopped ... but I don't remember any of it.

Luckily for me a 18 year old male trainee paramedic and also a midwife happened to be passing ... they got me back and were then assisted by three ambulances.

Missed out on my fish supper, but was alive again ... quite a good compromise as far as I'm concerned Smile

Now have a pacemaker fitted, but not allowed to ride bike for six months Sad

All the best ... Barry

Just got this .....

FSCS

Your refund is on its way - an update on MCE Insurance Company Ltd, now known as Green Realisations 123 Ltd (in administration)

Dear Mr Blah Blah
MCE Insurance Company Ltd entered administration in November 2021. Since then, we’ve been supporting the Joint Administrators – Andrew Stoneman and Geoff Bouchier of Kroll (Gibraltar), who evaluated options for those affected by this unfortunate situation.

FSCS protects customers when financial firms fail. Independent and free to use, if the firm you've used has gone out of business and owes you money, we can step in to pay compensation. We have been working closely with the Joint Administrators to make sure that all eligible policyholders are protected.

You will now have had notice that your insurance policy ended in January 2022. Please ensure you have alternative cover in place. FSCS cannot help you with this, so please talk to an insurance broker.

In better news, we are now raising payments and batches of cheques are being sent out. We will compensate eligible customers with a refund based on their remaining policy premium.

The policy premium refund process
You do not need to speak to us currently. We’ll contact you if we need to verify any details, but usually we’ll simply refund you directly. If you are eligible, you will receive a cheque from FSCS. You only need to contact FSCS if you have not received your cheque within 3 weeks of receiving this letter.

We will send the cheque to your registered policy address. If your address has changed since MCE Insurance Company Ltd entered administration, please update the appointed agents by contacting them at etc etc.

Nice, I guess I might get something through soon when they cycle round to whatever batch I am in.

I had a Near Death experience like yours last night.

I got the the chip shop door then noticed all the fannies inside were masked up for the Rona.

Went back to the car to.look for a mask.
Nada....

I had to settle for a Macky Dees.....

The indigestion after scoffing that almost killed me.

Just got my compo cheque through the door ... a massive £16.84!

My insurance was around the £130 mark and only had a few months left, so actually not too bad an amount.

Unrelated, apart from being about a cheque ... found a cheque from 2.5 years ago for £30.32 (a tax rebate from HMRC) ... new one being posted out Smile

All the best ... Barry
