This has been something that has happened for generations, but I came across one that was obviously named in future recognition of an illustrious American president and friend of the uk (NOT Laughing )

I give you HMS Trump.

There must be a forum that I can really wind up over this. Thinking

My favourite ship name is

Titan Uranus.

(Technically still people's names. So not a bit off topic. Cool )

I found this song on you tube a few years ago.
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot.

It's one of my ideas to try and see him live with my father who is a big fan, some day before he dies-because he's quite aged now at 83 (Gordon, not my father)... But... I've read reviews of his live performances and they're not good due to his voice apparently being badly broken and faltering (who's wouldn't at 83) and I fear it will be a huge disapointment. Crying or Very sad

You can go and see any band or performer and see a bad show because they might be having an off night.

Just take your dad and go and see him mate, what have you got to lose? You might see a great show and have some great memories, if you don't go you will never know.

When my wife first mentioned the song to me, I misheard the tile as the wreck of the Ella Fitzgerald Smile

Mainly because he only seems to perform in Canada or the States. Laughing Laughing

Your initial comment I agree with though.

I had a road named after me when my Dad was in planning, Craig Wood Way,

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.4129097,-2.8615039,367m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

He named the roads on the estate that I live on now too.

Not a practice that happens nowadays around our way thankfully, no offence. In part due to the number of highways named 'Savile' in the District. They were named after a local bigwig named Lord Savile rather than Sir James the Necrophiliac, but the awkwardness still exists....

He wasn’t responsible for the street that South York’s Police are on, was he?
