I was watching helmet web pages wondering what's the lightest Jet helmet with carbon fiber (for my interest),
and found this characteristic(weird) helmet brand of france.
https://www.ateliers-ruby.com/
It has 3 types
Pavillon:Open face
https://www.ateliers-ruby.com/collections/pavillon
Belvedere:Jet
https://www.ateliers-ruby.com/collections/belvedere
Castel:Full face
https://www.ateliers-ruby.com/collections/castel

"The outer shell is composed of carbon fiber
Ultra light weight of between 870g – 1070g"
They have various colourings, and very expensive(most of them are around €1,000 Shocked )
Inner parts seems to be non-detachable (for me).

Do you want these helmet?

Their full face one looks to have a horribly restrictive opening. I like a helmet to have the minimum possible restriction of my field of view.

Have you seen Airoh helmets? Composite rather than pure CF but Their TTR S is 850g.

This 850g is super light! Most of light one are usually aroud 1200g for JET and 1300g for full face. I checked Airoh TTR S and there were some seller here too. It was sad that they say it's trial use only and not road legal here but thank you for this information!

My helmets now
(Full face)
Shoei Z-7(NXR) M size 1356g spec 1450g act
GT-Air M size 1501g 1550g act
(JET)
Zenith SF-7 850g act (poor protection but main helmet due to weight)

Searched result of light ones
(JET)
Shoei J-Force4 M size 1274g spec
Wins A-Force RS JET 1300+-50g spec
Ruby Belvedere 870-1070g spec
(Full Face)
Bell bullitt carbon 1280+-50g (not road legal here)
Simpson M30 Bandit carbon 1134g
OGK Kabuto RT33RMips (no stock anymore)
WINS:A-FORCE RS 1300g
AGV K-6 1220+-50g spec
LS2 FF396 carbon 1170g (sold on aliexpress at cheap price...)

Helmet around or less than 1000g seems very rare.
Most spec weight will be plus 100g with pin lock.

Obviously I know not of your laws, but is this a regularly checked item when riding? As in the police etc, do they check that?

Once I cause an (huge) accident and I was hospitalised, insurance inspector will surely check the helmet I was wearing, and if the helmet wasn't road legal, insurance won't be paid.
As far as I don't cause an huge accident, police won't check it.
Road legal or not can be checked by a sticker on the helmet.
Bell bullitt carbon passes DOT there, but not ours, which makes it non legal.
Some user use them(helmet without SG or PSC or JIS sticker) at their own risk. As far as I won't be hospitalised, helmet won't be checked, so wearing them(Airoh TTR-S ,bell etc) at my own risk is one possible choice cause they will save my life than my 850g one.
And my 850g one is also "grey" too(pass JIS 1 but not JIS2).
This made me nervous and doing web searching.

Wow! Here I think if you were pushing your luck... you'd get a telling off/maximum £500 fine as they would potentially class you as 'not wearing a helmet' ... would be a very big stretch though.

Insurance wise, if you had an accident and didn't damage your head at all and they went to invalidate, you'd easily (again, UK) be able to get round that as the helmet wasn't the cause of the accident, played no part in the accident aside it definitely protected my head, but has no part in the accident and can't be held to ransom Laughing

If I crashed without a helmet and didn't get a head injury, they wouldn't invalidate my insurance, they could try... but it would be far easier to just wear a helmet that wasn't designed for the road.

For ref, I have crashed in an offroad helmet from ebay back when I was starting out and never had an issue here, including crash and payout for the helmet in question Neutral Mr. Green

Bought Shoei JO today and did 60miles and this was right helmet for me.

My neck didn't hurt at all. (I have a bad neck)
And I feel really protected compared to cheap ones. It has CJ-3 visor which covers eyes only, and much lighter than adding bubble shield cause it weighs about 300g.
Open face 1000 + bubble shield 300 = 1300g which is heavier than Lightest Jet with screen, so I went for this one.

Shoei JO M size solid was 1068g on the catalogue, was 1112g actual. Z-7(NXR) is 1442 g actual, so 330 gram lighter than Z-7 and 200 g heavier than my cheap one.

CJ-3 visor avoids wind blast to my eyes perfectly, and by wearing neck warmer I could avoid bugs to my mouth.

My serow has little screen but I've got thicker seat so I'll search for screen extension parts later.

Yesterday I wore Z-7 and did 30 minutes ride and my neck started hurting, so I gave up going for J-Force 4(1274g) which will surely hurt my neck sooner, and aimed at 1000 to 1100 g helmet.

Shoei stopped selling on major online sites, and started face-to-face sales at authorized dealers only here.
I bought at list price of 37,400yen plus CJ-3 soft smoke mirror shield 9,900 yen. I thought this expensive but later I found amazon prices were like 70,000yen nearly double of the list price.

I don't know why but Shoei is not producing JO at the moment, which makes stocks rarer and more expensive.

Anyway I will enjoy riding more with this helmet.

not for me - not after my mate's "nose patch" story...the fate of a local biker who insisted on open face style long after decent full-face designs had arrived...this guy was kind of the biking equivalent of Tycho Brahe.

It looks great and isn’t ruinously expensive (still a bit expensive though). How noisy is it while riding?

I haven't tried on motorway yet, on a normal road at 40mph, it wasn't noisy at all. Maybe because my ears were covered firmly and inside parts are decently made compared to cheap ones.
I always wear ear plugs, then it's quiet as same as Z7(NXR). But if I try this on motorway, this may be noisier than Z7.
