Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which scooters would be best for a short rider.

I have a Sym Jet 4 125, which, according to specs, has a seat height of 30.5 in. My partner is around 5 foot and she finds my scooter too high for her, her feet don't even touch the ground, she has small legs.

What would be a good low scooter for her? - the lower the better.

Whilst travelling around I have seen some zip by me on the roads that looked quite small but didn't catch the make and model of them, so I know smaller scoots exist.

I'd love my partner to be able to come out and ride with me but we need a scooter that she is comfortable on and that she can handle.

Thanks in advance.

SHE needs to stay in the kitchen and cook you a nice dinner for when you return from your ride out! Wink

How far away is she from being able to touch the ground? You can always remove some seat foam to lower it a little.

I have the opposite problem with most 125 scoots
they is all too small innit?
Anyroadup

You need a narrow seat and not too wide a floor board so
legs of limited length go down more than out as
the wider the scoot forces your legs out
the longer they have to be to touch the ground

I'd go to a dealer showroom and sit on as many as I could to get
an idea of what might be suitable as well asking about of course

it also occurs to me that a 125 cruiser style motorcycle
may well have a very low seat height

Heres some reputedly smaller scootys

As well as the above removing seat foam idea
I do know ladies who had shorter&stiffer rear shocks fitted to lower the overall height.
This may or may not be a viable option on some scoots

That Honda Navi looks amazing, why have I never seen it before. Had a look and can't find it for sale in the UK though Sad

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll check them out.

Honda Grom (MSX125) Monkey and Dax might be worth a look. I reckon you could probably get toes down rather than flat-foot them @ 5'0"

Lowering the Ruckus seat would be a trivial mod though.

I'd recommend a Honda Grom. It's actually a proper bike but it's little, and it should be fine for a 5 footer. It's 125, and is really quite good looking.

I don't think they sell the Navi in the UK as it has a drum brake. I don't think it passes the Euro 5 type approval.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Bikes like the Suzuki 125 intruder are really low. MCN reckons 26.8" seat height for it, compared to 30.5" for the Sym Jet 125. Both sources should be taken with a heft pinch of salt though.
