Not bought any aerosols for a while but went to my local supplier (Nu Agane - Bedford) to get some touch up for one of my old vehicles.
It was mixed to spec from a scan which was nice.
When he handed my the can it was marked '2K' which I thought was banned. However research tells me there a new type of 2K without the nasties (iso-cyanates)in it for us hobby guys. seems this paint is also petrol resistant when 'fully cured'.
Could this he holy grail of petrol tank paint for the hobbyist?
some more info. here.. https://www.jawel.co.uk/jawel_pdf_data/painters_guide/painters_guide_2K-%20NON-ISOCYANATE_paint.pdf ____________________ Now: A100, GT250A, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000

Am I reading that right? Doesn't sound like you can speed up the cure with an oven (traditional paint shop route) but I guess that's not an issue for the target market ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Most paint takes a fair while to harden properly (for flatting back etc..) With old 2K you could get different speed rates of the hardener element that would cure quickly at the expense of 'flow' I guess. No idea what kind of painst pro-shops use these days (water based?) that can tolerate heating..
With this stuff it sounds like you could paint a petrol tank inside without too many issues.. ____________________ Now: A100, GT250A, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000
