Repurposed fuel tank is unusual.. Some nice bits on there exhaust alone is worth 150 I'd say..

Cheers

Looks like a pile of junk to me. Junk I throw away. I don't throw away good money to obtain more. Could make a good project to never finish I suppose, give the spiders in the shed somewhere new to make a home.

If you already had one, it might be worth the current bid of £205 as a source of spares, but not much more. I certainly wouldn't entertain trying to return such a shitter to the road.

That exhaust looks suspiciously like one of those cheap generic Chinese stainless jobs - I had one that looked exactly like it on a 400 Burgman - with a Micron sticker added for extra BHP?

If the carbs are fine I reckon it must be worth £150 for those alone.

OK its shabby but could still be useful if the engines OK
and the price stays low.
Don't understand the shock and outrage over the rear subframe
Its a mono shock and the only load on the sub frame is for the riders arse.
The existing support could easily be reinforced.
This is different to when feckwits chop a twin shock into a mono.
Having the tank/fuel under your arse isn't any more dangerous than
having it under yer bollox/belly.

Buy it
Buy it now!

Because once you have done that the frame, in my view it's pretty much trash. If I bought a bike of that age and it wasn't as a spares source I'd want it back to original spec. For that you need an unadulterated frame.

The likelihood of it being OK isn't all that great, I suspect. People who make the sort of ghetto modz suffered by that FZ are usually potless bodgers who wouldn't be caught wasting what cash they have on servicing and maintenance, and their name is usually the last to ever appear on the V5c.

It's a couple of hundred quid pile of spares, maybe a bit more if the engine could be heard running (in a way that didn't suggest imminent demise, obviously).

Nah, you have to stip it down, clean up the individual bits and deal with the pond life on FB market, gumtree and ebay to sell and make at most a couple of hudred profit. Then get rid of the rest of the junk no one wants before the wife emasculates you for doing it in the kitchen. I'm not at that stage of desparation yet. Wink

Well, look on them as a rather over rated and expensive optional extra in life. Then go and strip your bike down in the kitchen with no worries of retaliation. You'll feel better. Thumbs Up

That does appear to be where it's heading..the feeling of liberation is hard to challenge.
