Hope this reaches you all well, as I have no where else to turn.... I have a seized 1250 motor. Less than 20k miles on it when no start and no turn whatsoever. Starter and stator removed, and rear wheel still no budge. Ran great before, idled right, full of oil and coolant and fans kicked on just fine. I haven't seen any info or indicators of others experiencing anything like this, other than one post mentioning a cam chain tensioner/chain guide. Anyone seen/experienced anything like this? if so, do you think it is worth trying to open motor and diagnose problem, or just doing outright swap with an ebay motor? Any help if possible would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks y'all. _psyham

I would at least have the rocker cover off for a look.

But yeah if it's dead I wouldn't be fixing it. Bike is common enough and reliable enough that there is a good chance of finding a second hand engine to swop in.

As above, I'd deffo at least whip the valve cover off just to satisfy curiosity if nothing else.
A failed tensioner might have allowed the chain to jump and possibly jam
it up.
It might be fixable if you're very lucky but might also have caused serious ( expensive) damage if piston/s met valves
Again, have look see.
Test don't guess and all that

Details seem a bit vague imo
Seized as in riding/caning the arse off it and it seized
or just wouldn't start one day or left loitering in a garage and its now unresponsive ?
