Wotcha.

As long as petrol is cheap, people won't buy electric cars . . . . now do you see why the cost of petrol has risen ?

( Me ? Cynical ? - never )

The E10 stuff seems to get at least 10% lower mpg too.
With grain prices about double the ethanol they *must* include will be making it more costly.
Luckily my pickup uses diesel. Oh. Confused

Ethanol / Biodiesel is there to increase the price not reduce it Rolling Eyes

Apparently you can save the planet by making fuel from scratch rather than refining the existing stuff that was made millions of years ago,

1.87 CAD (1.17 GBP) where l am but l more than make up the cost difference driving a 5.7L V8 that does 15 MPG. Normal prices in the last 10 years have average around 1 CAD (0.63 GBP) so have almost a doubled in 1 year.

Most of the increase here as Canada is a large oil producer has been due to carbon taxes by scumbag Trudeau. 1/3 of my homes natural gas bill each month is fu*king carbon tax.

As my current girlfriend (future wife) is from Canada, I love the country and I want to semi-retire there in the next 20 years I take a lot of interest in what goes on. I saw he has also used shit happening in a completely different country to justify banning handguns in Canada.

Trudeau is a cunt and can fuck right off, he also said he's going to stop foreigners buying houses in Canada. As if me buying a cheap house in bumble-fuck nowhere Alberta is what is driving up house prices in Toronto Rolling Eyes

Guy is a complete cunt. He lost all legitimacy when he was beaten by some fucking parked trucks. Cunt.

Anyway I was in Quebec last November and I remember working out that gas prices were 40% cheaper there than they were in the UK at the time. I was driving a Toyota Corolla around and it was getting good MPG. Driving around Quebec cost very little for the two weeks and every single tiny no-mark village had a Petro Can so running out was never an issue either. The only downside about driving in Canada is the retardedly low speed limits Crying or Very sad

Cars then...
...no tyre grip
...no traction control
...no decent suspension
...no power steering
...no seat belts
...no air bags
...no crash protection
...highest death rate on the roads
...no speed limit Shocked

And now we have cars that practically drive themselves and the lowest death rate historically, even before cars were a thing! But no, 20mph for you, sunshine, 'cos safety Rolling Eyes

I know you're being somewhat tongue in cheek but look at that fucking road. You wouldn't see that density at 4am these days with all the gazillions of vehicles we have...

Indeed! No traffic and yet horrendous road accident statistics.

Better roads + better cars + tougher driving tests have all combined, IMHO, to make road travel much safer and yet it's never enough. "Let them eat cake!" Pah, let them live quite, safe and miserable lives is the current mantra Sad

By the 60s traffic jams were worse than now as town centre bypasses were a rarity.
A few places round here you can still take the original road alongside wider A road and marvel at how tourist buses and ford prefects made it around all the narrow bends and bridges with not enough space for two modern cars to pass.
Most vehicles were significantly smaller though.

An example approaching a cross roads in central Malton - all the traffic now on mainly dual A64 York to Scarborough had to funnel through here. It would be unthinkable now as they still get big tailbacks with local traffic wanting to get to supermarket etc

I sold my only pistol a few years ago a 1911 government model in 45ACP as l never used it and prefer shooting/collecting rifles. But due to that retard pushing his communist agenda with a freeze on new sales later this year (they wont ban out right as there is 1.1 million in registered owners hands and the buy back costs will be a hell of alot more than the 110k AR15`s they banned) l went and purchased a new S&W 45.

Very nice mate. I would buy a gun legally if I could, probably won't be able to by time I move there Laughing then again, I'm not that bothered either as I would only use it for punching paper at a range.

It just gets my back up that politicians use things happening in completely different countries to tighten things up in their own when the situations in both countries are wildly different.

Also I just hate Trudeau, the man is an absolute cunt. There's no way he's going to hold any power after his term ends. The Liberals won by the slimmest of margins in the 2021 Federal Election. Come the next election I can see the Liberals losing seats in Quebec to Bloc Québécois (including Trudeau's own seat in Papineau) and seats everywhere else to the Conservatives. When you take a hard-left stance in a mostly centrist country there's a rebound in the next election to drag the country back to the centre by voting slightly right. I don't even think the Conservatives are on the right in Canada anyway they strike me as centrist/ populist.

Paid over £2 per litre for standard unleaded today, joys of a ride in the countryside, still worth every penny.
