Hi folks

I've recently purchased a set of pedal extenders for my FZS600 to save my knees, I'm 6'2 and find myself a bit too scrunched up when riding the bike - I don't want to change it though as it is a lovely ride.

Problem is I can't get the rear brake pedal to go low enough, I've adjusted the nut on the end of the master cylinder so it's as low as can be - any ideas how I can make the pedal still lower?

I think your problem there is going to be if you continue to try and lower the existing lever, you're going to be not actuating it directly down anymore, so you might find your foot almost impedes it (hard to explain, but normally the pedal will roughly move vertically relative to the peg, so your foot pivots around the peg. If the lever is canted over at an angle, it will instead have diagonal movement relative to the peg so as you try and push down on it, either your foot will slide on the lever or the peg to take up the difference).

Back to your problem; in an ideal world, you would move your brake pedal pivot so it is where your new peg position is. But I suspect not possible (?). So maybe an L shaped lever so the pedal "pad" is in roughly the right place (rather than close to the peg as it would be if you tilted down the existing) but you'll still have the original issue as with the pivot in the same place, it'll still move towards the peg as it gets depressed, so I'd be tempted to minimise any play so it applies with minimal movement.

Thinner locking nut on top would give you a tad more movement.

Odd that (presumably) whoever made the dropped footrest hanger didn’t anticipate this problem and offer a solution. Maybe a local engineering company can help by fabricating a longer or dog-legged lever.

Which is exactly what I've done Laughing Thumbs Up

It kind of works, but now I'm finding my right heel is resting on the exhaust and any change to the peg either puts my foot too close to the brake pedal or higher up and I may as well have kept the original peg on.
I'll need time to get used to it and play about with different positions, but I can't help thinking I might end up putting the originals back on and trying to stuff the seat more to raise my height instead.

Maybe space the whole hanger a bit further out from the bike? Try with some washers and longer bolts first then make up an alloy spacer if it suits you?

I'd just drag the angel grinder and welder out
and do a cut and shut on the lever
Bolts/rivets ( black dots ) would be an option
but personally I'd rather weld it
