Should my motocycle be moving off without stalling with the side stand down?
Faulty switch?

Probably, or it's been disconnected because it was playing up
or a connection has broken.

Haven't seen the wiring diagram, but most are linked to the ignition system/cdi/spark unit/whatever and disable the sparks
when in the down position.

If it were mine, I'd check the cables and connections first
then if that's ok, get a meter and test the switch functions ok.
It should go from dead short to open circuit ( or vice versa)
as the stand is lowered and raised.

From my memory the engine should stop when selecting any gear with the side stand down, neutral switch comes into play as well.
