Recently bought some Chinese brake levers and noticed there's a hole in one of the diaphragms.

Any idea if this should definitely be replaced for one completely intact of is it fine?

My fear is this will let air into the reservoir and spoil the fluid.

Would I trust chinese manufactured (I am presuming pretty cheap too...) braking components as my primary stopping item.

Probably not.

I wouldn't put money on the diaphragm of your Aprilia RS125 being made in Italy or the diaphragm on your Suzuki GSXR1000 being made in Japan. I'd put money on both coming from a Chinese factory Laughing

Throw it in the bin, that hole's clearly a manufacturing defect.

BTW, better to share photos anonymously through sites like imgur

But at least it passed through some QC...

I don't understand why anyone would trust any chinese parts bin item on their brakes. Sure, it may be fine, but I am not a gambling man. I mean parts directly ordered from the cheapest possible vendor on ebay or similar.

To be honest, I am in the same thought camp. I would have just bought an OEM replacement from Fowlers for the diaphragm, it's not going to cost more than £15 Laughing
