Does anyone have a 650 Interceptor? I really like the look of them and there's a dealer not to far away. Reasonably priced really. Can pick up a 2019/20 for under £5k.

From memory, I summed it up just like Shaft did in his thread he's linked to. Suspension is the weakest point - which I didn't notice much on smooth Spanish tarmac but I bet I would over here.

Biggest 'issue' (it wasn't really an issue as much as it was a surprise) for me was how modern the bike felt compared to my experience of RE, with my Bullet. I expected it to feel more old-school than it does. To the point I'd say my R NineT feels more old-school. I wondered whether that would leave me feeling like the bike lacked a bit of character. I wasn't sure on that. The looks definitely have character, but it has to ride with character to stay in my stable.

It's a cracking bike though.

I had a Euro 4 Baker Express for a year, I bought it new and tried to carry out improvements and mods, ( new lighter exhausts, rebuilt front forks with emulators, new Koni rear shocks, engine bars, short windscreen, new air filter) rode about 6,500 miles on it, but felt that I couldn't improve it any further and I compared it unfavourably to Triumph Bonnevilles that I had owned before.
I found it heavy, underpowered, poor riding position and decided to sell it, one thing is I did get a good price.
Not knocking Royal Enfield, I have had my Himalayan for 3 years and love it, it is a great bike and is ideal for what I enjoy.

I would rather spend £5K on a good condition second hand Bonneville, it handles better, is built better and you don't need to throw a fortune at it to make it adequate.
