Anyone have a Skorpion Exhaust? Seems there's not many about.

Get loads of people telling me that it's a badly spelled Scorpion exhaust from China. Laughing In truth it's an early Acrapovic before they changed their name. I think it looks good. Carbon must have been unusual in 1993, was it?

Yeah I would say carbon in 93 would be pretty rare. Skorpion was the name of his shop I’m not sure how long they used that name before the change. Pretty cool part. And from what I can see the 900rr looks pretty good too. I wish we would have got some of the paint schemes you guys got over here in the states.

A bit off topic, but one day Akrapovic is likely to not exist anymore. Their main product is exhausts for engines, when eletric bikes increase in popularity the demand for their product is only ever going to go down.

RIP Akrapovic.

Yes, yes I know someone will bring up they do car exhausts too, but ICE cars are also dead in the future. Not to mention the fact the vast majority of their sales are from motorcycles.

Sadly, this will be repeated across many industries, gearbox manufacturers will be one of the first to go, other than a few motorsport brands (Quaife etc) there is not much in the way of an aftermarket for such things, and once all new vehicles become electric, no need for gearboxes

Carbon was prohibitively expensive up until much later in the nineties.

I have a very early carbon Yoshimura can for my ZZR11-C, slightly earlier than that but around the same era. It's an American import, used on the straightline/drag circuit. Sadly I can't run in at the moment as UK weather has taken its toll in the last few years. It's mild steel pipework with a carbon end can, no baffles. Ridiculously light weight. Sounds incredible but definitely not subtle when opening the throttle.
