Hi all,

I’ve a 2012 Triumph Street Triple. When I start it, it on occasion, makes a screeching noise from the engine, although calms down once it warms up.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Glyn

More info for the experts on here, i take it that the oil level and filter are ok?
Also is the clutch lever in or out with the noise?
You say screeching but any tapping / rattling ?

@jaffa - thank you. Oil and filter are fine, just a screeching noise as far as I can tell. Will try and post a video when I get home!

I've had bikes make a screetching noise from the starter clutch rollers not fully disengaging.

Yeah starter clutch is the instant thought, how long does it keep making the noise once the engine has started?

mine stiops pretty much as soon as you stop using the starter but it would depend how long it takes the rollers to disengage.
