It's a flagship "look we're not the nasty party" policy that's all.

And why would they care about that unless they're trying to look/be progressive? Which as above shows has no real benefit, as Labour showed in 2019...

That sounds like a typical left wing contradiction. How would you have lots of immigration without cheapening labour. Pre-thatcher unionisation?

Well I mean the Tories could have a diversity PM before Labour (even more points?), although will an Indian count? In the US they often try to exclude East Asians in minority stuff, cos they don't fit with the oppression narrative, even though many go along with it not realising they're next Rolling Eyes I assumed Indians were similarly inconvenient:

Hand Hang about are they over-represented? 45 of out 650 would be 6.9%?

'An estimated 2.7% of the UK population aged 16 years and over identified as lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) in 2019, an increase from 2.2% in 2018.' [Other was 0.7% if you were wondering.]

I can't see the Conservative voters being all that happy about putting a Kawasaki in No10, they may score many
happy clappy utopia points but would lose MANY votes in the long run. I don't know why he wants to do the job at all?
If I had his money I'd spend some of it on trying to look less like a rat wearing a tie. Thing is a brown face as PM will
push a lot of Conservative voters further to the right, probably not the effect they're after.

Kemi's doing a lot better than I could have hoped but as she isn't a diversity candidate we'll end up with a WEF sock puppet instead Sad

That's just the world in general I'm afraid. The Left are busy slagging off all the candidates based off interracial marriage. e.g. Kemi's not [politically] Black 'cos she's married to a white man, two demerits right there Rolling Eyes

I've not seen any of that but truth be told i switched off from watching hysterical news journos and associated pundits a few days ago. I did see a snippet of Starmer saying he didn't care who became the tory leader as theyre all s#ite etc, which is much how I feel. Its a bit like turkeys getting excited over which slaughter man is going to be on duty as far as I can see.

I believe Indians are one of the most (politically) Conservative diversities as a lot are middle class, and are likely the sort of people the Tories will target more and more, so I'm not sure how he would go down.

As for Sunak he wants power. I thought most of the money came from his wife anyway, which I find a bit suspicious, unless Sunak is an absolute chad by Indian standards?

Tut Tut Minority rule. Indians are 2.5% of the population, and I think the second largest group behind Poles (who overtook them between censuses).

Not a diversity candidate? Eh? Or did you mean she's not a BLM/black power type?

It's amazing how common that is in politics, even among the diversity hate whitey types.

Well, I didn't fill out a census form so to some extent, I don't exist. It wasn't deliberate on my part, was just between
addresses at the time. Plenty didn't on purpose because...

Mind you, I'd say what appears to me to be the most racially intolerant person in the Conservatives -if not in parliament as a whole (Irish childish bickering aside)- is a woman of Indian origin. I'm looking at you Home Secretary!

Well they should fill it out if they want to be represented Wink

Have you seen the media? Every day there's a story about race. It's weird they spent years trying to get people not to see race (and gender), now they want people to see it everywhere Thinking

Despite what we're told diversities are normally far more intolerant and raciss towards other groups. Indian's are no exception.

Their overtly religious proclivities are mainly to blame for this. Just like white church goers are a little on the intolerant side.

Don't wish to point out joining dates here but....

I wonder why people join a relatively unmoderated forum, pre-populated with a bewildering array of dickheads and
miscreants (myself included) if they are so easily offended. You can always vote with your feet. I didn't like my
last job, so I left it. Now it doesn't bother me anymore. See how that works?

That and they haven't had years of being told racism is the worst thing imaginable, so they're a lot more explicit with their views. This is more an observation than a criticism.

Where have you seen them doing this? Im no doubting that racist attitudes are normal amongst many racial minorities but where is it seen publicly? How unless you spoke their language would a english only speaking person know? For instance if you were in the locker room of a cricket team with a lot of players of a Pakistani muslim origin how would you know if they were passing anti-Semitic comments.
