A couple of years ago a local dealer lent me a Ducati 1200 ‘Hypermotarde’ as a courtesy bike for the day.

If anything was going to get me to put my hands in my pockets and part with my pennies, it was going to be that.
At the time it was relatively cheap and for a heartbeat I did consider buying it .
However I’m very tight-fisted and kept my money.

Yes sometimes I do wish I’d have bought it and scrapped all the other piles of shyte living in my garage.

It was a beast Wub Wub Wub

I had a hankering for one of those for a time (might've been the 1100). I was at High Beach in Epping Forest when I first had a close sniff around one. The owner, who I had never met before, offered me the keys to try it out...trusting! I thought it presumptuous to take him up on the offer, so didn't.
I thought it was one of those rare bikes that look good from every angle.

A Mk3 RG250. Back in the day, a friend lent me his for a spin and stepping up from an Suzuki X5 it was night and day different. I didn't have the money when he was selling it but I still keep looking at them now.

I should have also swapped my X5 for an RD125LC in Wrangler colours but I was talked out of it by a mate because it was only a 125...

And I should have P/exed my FZR600 for the YZF750 I test rode.

When I think about it, a friend of a friend was selling his highly modified original Katana 1000 on ebay, I couldn't find it because he'd listed it in 'cars', that went for about £1100

And finally when on holiday in Whitby 10 or so years ago, a bike shop had a tatty 1945 Harley that looked like it had been painted with a brush, for £2500. Didn't buy that either.

Literally anything other than the K1300 I chose.....

Probably the very good condition CB1000R I saw around the same time but was swayed by the toys on the BMW.

One of the nicest arses in the business.

I was about to push the button on one of these, but got an option to buy one of these instead:

Don't get me wrong, the Aprilia was a very very very enjoyable bike, but part of me still hankers for that bloody suzy .....
