Not sure if it's offensive for nobby to be saying that gays are catching it more than hetrosexuals because gays are promiscuous.

HIV was originally called a gay plague because it predominantly affected homosexual men.

It turned out that the easiest way of transmission was via sex and gay men tend to be promiscuous and don't use.condoms because there's no danger of them getting pregnant.

Both women and men are just as likely to be infected via sex with an infected individual as the rampant spread in Africa has shown

It's more down to behaviour than sexual preference.

Not true, it's been known for years anal sex is more risky...
'Anal sex is the riskiest type of sex for getting or transmitting HIV. Being the receptive partner (bottom) is riskier than being the insertive partner (top). The bottom's risk is higher because the rectum's lining is thin and may allow HIV to enter the body during anal sex.'

Part of the prevelance in Africa is polygamy, and that uninfected African women are sometimes encouraged to sleep with their HIV postive husbands, aaand shit like this doesn't help: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-38028065 - 'An HIV-positive Malawian man has been found guilty for having unprotected sex with newly bereaved widows.'

In parts of the world where things are a little more 'normal'...
In 2019, the [infection] rate for males (21.0) was 5 times the rate for females (4.5).

The CDC (2015) reported that gay and bisexual men accounted for 82% of HIV diagnoses among males and 67% of all diagnoses in the United States (~4% of the population identifying as LGBT then)

Do you actually think before opening your mouth? If 90+% of transmissions are from gay men, then the problem is gay men. Stop gay men passing the monkey pox and 9/10 transmissions will stop.

AIDS apparently, as rumours once stated, came from jiggy time with primates in Africa, now this type of pox seems to have the same origins. Why is that? There's plenty of promiscuity out there, isn't there?
