Driving lessons are what forced me to get glasses, having been in myopic denial in my teens. They’ve been done a favour.
Edit: you’ve been done a favour.
PS. Needs a Paint diagram.

Like Jimbo, doing my CBT/DAS is the only reason I finally sorted my glasses after 15 years. Yep, stupid.
Anyhoo…doing my DAS I also got a rubber bone award because I was wondering why they had ‘reserved’ parking spaces with the car number plates on them
My top tip with regard to this, my instructor said, many times, regarding things that were ‘wrong’ with regard to other motorists where I was clearly correct - ‘Yeah, but do you want to be dead right?’. If you are going to ride a bike you need to anticipate everyone else getting it wrong, and then let it go. |

Thats not what happens though. On test, the examiner guesstimates the distance first time, if you can't read it, he/she tries again. Then, they get the tape measure out, and, measure it properly. Then, and, only then, will you fail the eyesight test. |

If I was the troll I have to say right now I'm feeling like I've done a fabulous job so thank you
575 people out of 1.6m tests failed on eyesight 2019 into 2020, mainly youngsters so it's unlikely as hell it's because they were 25 metres away rather than 20, even by your clunky measurement. Much more likely they hadn't actually thought about their eyesight before arriving at the test centre - rookie error.

Good luck with your biking career. Might suggest grow thicker skin because as / when you do come off (we all do at least once) you might need it. |
