Another tragic death

https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/news/leeds-news/tragic-leeds-boy-15-killed-24592746

Jordan Walker, 15, died on Sunday, July 24, after the motorbike he was riding down Temple Newsam Road left the road and hit a lamppost. Another 15-year-old boy also suffered serious injuries, and is currently in a stable condition at the hospital. He is thought to have been riding on the same bike as Jordan.

"Jordan was such a good kid never said nothing bad to no one and would do anything for anyone"

I'm guessing they got the ages wrong and he had full passenger insurance etc. etc.

I was trying to find one that was posted on a facebook bike group last week without success.

Generally there's the fundraising comments, fli high's, never did nobody no harm etc. etc.

Then someone points out that they were illegally riding a stolen bike, got what they deserve, etc. etc.

It's quite amusing watching swarms of teenage females going potato trying to defend them.

You've only got to look at the PM to see that nothing good ever came out of Leeds. Laughing

Hmm? I guess he won’t be riding a bike down the road again ?
15 years old and qualified to take passengers on the public roads?
He must have a very special license?

I guess his Saturday job must have paid well for him to be able to afford a bike and to take his test for his special license that allowed him to ride on public roads aged 15 years old.

Hang on a minute while I shed a tear Laughing

Nice thought...

In an ideal world the other one would be dead too. My best wishes are with the lamp post.

Not until Labour took over the area and got the schools out of special measures. Laughing

"X was such a good kid never said nothing bad to no one and would do anything for anyone"

Always the cliche, kid could have been found dealing heroin to 5 year olds, mugging old grannies, and end up getting stabbed to death for his trouble, and there'll still be comments like this.

Never great when someone dies (especially a kid who likely could have been taught a bit better), but there's a reason you're not allowed to ride around the streets at 15 on motorbikes carrying passengers.... they've just found out why.

Have a heart. This 15 year old young man was riding his motorbike with a passenger quite legally when he was involved in an accident, completely out of character.

The family has absolutely no money whatsoever, hence the funeral fund. Maybe you could donate towards getting his motorbike repaired?

Thing is it's illegal to
Ride a motorcycle on the road below the age of 16
Ride said motorcycle without basic training CBT, insurance, etc.
Carry a passenger without appropriate testing/license
Ride a motorcycle of cc/power without appropriate age/license

I would assume at least some of the above was to minimize the risk of fatalities to either the rider or other road users due to the rider being of insufficient age/intellect/training to handle their vehicle

However, some people clearly feel the above rules do not apply to then. Of course, if they then get deaded/potato'ed due to an accident, it's all society's fault.

It's the people that are the problem not the bikes per se.

Over on the continent 14 year olds got to ride around on scooters and mopeds.

But restricted to ?25mph? Pretty sure you still need CBT too.
