It was the EU (specifically the krauts and the Froggies). Now no one can renege on Ursula's dictates and go behind her back to Russia for gas.

Well, makes more sense than saying Russia when all they have to do is shut a few valves.

Yes you absolutely do. They're currently reducing their dependency on Russian fuel with the goal of removing it entirely - Putain hates that too.

I don't see how shutting down their nuclear power production helps them to do that (take loaded gun, point at foot Doh! ). Oh, that's right, they're ramping up coal fired power, yay! Laughing

It's for a different thread, but it's so obvious that green is not going to be forthcoming enough to save the planet unless someone actually gets fusion power working. People like their toys too much and the players with big populations which are all wanting those toys will give power from any source to keep the plebs happy.

We are all doomd, doomed I say.

I think people are going to be really shocked when they finally wake up to what's coming down the line at them.

For the record, the Baltic was heavily mined during WWII and there are still wrecks with un-assploded ordinance on-board.
Mibby it was a poor seabed survey job by the Nord-Stream Company and they missed something.

Just throwing that out there.

I few weeks ago I was musing to myself on the idea of just blowing up Nordstream as a big "FU Vlad we'll tough it out without your crappy earth farts". It wasn't me though. I think.

A single explosion and damage maybe but three independent explosions and point of damage?

Biden is on record threatening to shut it down, don't say the quite part out loud, Joe! The timing seems a bit odd though. I'd have thought it would run like this:

Putin runs fake referendums in east Ukraine as a pretence to annex more stuff. Russian diplomats in the UN call for censure of Ukraine for invading "sovereign Russian territory." Move (obviously) falls flat. Pipeline mysteriously blows up to show "this is what you get for not swallowing the lie."

Either Biden would have blown it up at the start of the war or Putin (as a Black Flag op) some weeks from now. But if it's neither of the nutters who else would stand to benefit, who else has oil and gas, who else has naval assets in and around the Baltic Sea...

Klaus Schwab, the "evil Teutonic megalomaniac hiding in plain sight as an evil Teutonic megalomaniac, in his hollowed-out alp in Switzerland"! Laughing

It was the back up plan for the Kardashians, just in case Kim's attempts to screw crypto investors didn't make the news. They'll take the credit as soon as their media presence falls again.
