Been nagging the guy to let me give it some overdue tlc
and just fitted a new piston and seal kit to the 'new'
second hand master cylinder.
Looks like an original Yammie one but it could be 10 years old and clocked up many miles and brake pulls
It didn't feel good despite repeated bleeding so hopefully the kit will bring it close to new condition.
It's a Japanese made Tourmax kit from Wemoto who I've used on and off for years and cant recall ever getting crap from them
It's also half the price of a kit from Fowlers and even comes with a wee pot of brake grease.

Took a pic and the machining looks so much better than the cheap Ebay one.

Tourmax (edit: no not Tourmax), TRK and Gecko (and possibly Slinky Glide) are Wemoto brand names I think. The seal kit should be fine.

Could be a lot more bleeding is needed - I think that's gonna be a really good brake.

The Tourmax kit includes a new piston, right? Let us know if it's a different design from the Yamaha original.

I use Wemoto stuff on my C90; always seems to be decent enough quality, although I find it can be a bit tricky sometimes to get exactly the right part, but that's probably more due to the slight variations in the C90 over the last 60 years.

Yep, piston, seals, spring, washer, circlip and boot plus that grease.
Its black not plain like the one that came out and not sure if the old
one was an original part or not.

As I bled it, it still had a smidge of spongyness about it so I did
me old tappy tappy trick on the union and pipes I as held the lever under pressure.
Feels pretty good now.

My theory is some bubbles get a bit sticky on the sides as well as nooks and crannies and the vibration from tapping help shift the buggers.

and saw some small bubbles emerge
