In case not aware, Crighton is the all time, go-to Wankel guru. His Norton racer built on a shoe string embarrassed the Japs at the TT in the early 90s - squeezed maximum power for minimal displacement..

Isn't there some arguement that the displacement isn't measured the same as a reciprocationg cylinder bike though? A wankel is measured by one 'cylinder' displacement on it's rotor although there are actually 3 whereas a piston bike has the total of all it's displacement.

If I remember correctly, back when WSBs were 750cc I think the Norton F1 was about 588cc and thatwas considered a fair comparison.

I seem to remember when the Suzuki RE5 came out there was awe at the performance from a '500'cc bike but others were saying it was actually sh1t performance from a 1500 cc bike.

Not that it matters, just semantics. Laughing
