Goretex motorcycling trousers.
Extremely unglamorous, but practical and sensible as fuck.

Thinking Far too sensible a thing for hellkat - might need to find something wacky to do in order to adjust the balance in the Force.

She’s bought me a couple of sweatshirts, oh whoope do!
I really don’t need anything special so she usually buys me humorous gifts, Bless her Smile .

No idea, apart from a Thatcham approved lock and chain for the bike. Just to keep the insurance company happy
when it's in the shed. If I had to guess there will almost definitely be some star wars related stuff. I'll only receive
gifts from my parents and sister so it won't be loads.

Moneys tight this year and I'm getting a "fuck the tories" t shirt from one of my favourite bands.

Other than that. I do not want anything.

Bugger all. Wifie decided we aren't doing christmas this year. No tree, no decorations, no presents but she has told me I can take her out for a nice meal so MacDonalds looks good.

I really cannot get in any Christmas spirit this year (except Captain Morgan's of course).

Me neither. Can't see the point when it's just me here and just me who would see it if I had made the effort.
The house looks no different than it would in June. Not so much as a card on display here, but there is a roll
of vaguely Christmassy wrapping paper in the corner of the living room waiting for me to wrap up the gifts I've
bought for the relatives. Suppose I'd better get on with that. Rolling Eyes

In Paddy's case it could very well be either.

If previous years are anything to go by, my Dad will get me something similar to -but not actually- the very specific thing I asked for when he insisted I had to tell him what I wanted.

I know for a fact he's already done this to Mrs stinkwheel because he said he wanted to get her a new travel bag but didn't know which one to get her. I did a lot of research and told him exactly which one to get based on what she needs. I even provided a link to the local company which manufactures and sells them and pointed out that I could pick it up if he didn't want to have it posted.

He's bought a different, more expensive and less useful one from amazon.

I should have learned by now not to ask him for something I need. I'm not ungrateful but equally, I always land up with something that wasn't quite what I asked for and land up either having to make do with it or leaving it in a cupboard and buying the thing I originally wanted anyway. Like I have two very expensive electronic spray guns up in the loft which clearly aren't the clarkes HVLP pneumatic one I asked for and subsequently had to buy for myself.

I can be sure I'm NOT getting the Halfords Advanced low-range torque wrench I asked for because he immediately replied saying he doesn't like halfords stuff.

Halfords advanced.torque wrenches have a lovely click and are far superior to most on the market.

Thinking Not really my sort of wacky, though luv.
That's normal-people's wacky.

Nowadays I trust the universe to send me something suitably incorrigible, all in its own good time - and I shall then embrace it with impish glee Laughing

So ... are Halfords own-brand generally perceived to be a decent brand these days? (obvs not as decent as, say, Snap-on - but generally not made of cheese)

The Advanced branded stuff is, lifetime warrently like all the best brands. It's up there with the best but obviously doesn't have the brand name cashe of Snap-on and the like.
