Does anyone know of a device that I can leave at home connected to wifi, that will also connect to my bluetooth devices at home so I can access these bluetooth devices from anywhere with an internet connection?

I would have thought it would be fairly simple in terms of design, but I can't find a solution.

You're after a Bluetooth Gateway.

Haven't used one personally so this is a "fuck knows if it'll work" consumer example:

Dunno but it sounds feasible

I'd have assumed you'd need to setup something like a bluetooth network at home which can 'talk' to your home wifi/router network

how to do dis?
phuctyphino

this might help

Gateway! That is exactly the word I should have been using, thanks.

I am not sure this one will work though, as the bluetooth devices I want to connect to, are not part of this Chinese smart life/zigbee ecosystem. They are devices that come with an app themselves, and you need to be in bluetooth range, open the app and it scans and connects within the app.

An old Android phone, no sim, connected to your wifi with TightVNC on it so you can VPN in and activate your devices maybe?

Not sure I can use this to remote into a phone and I don't really want to use an android device because I need it to be reliable for weeks/months without touching it.

I was hoping for an industrial electronic device but there doesn't seem to be anything suitable AFAIK.

Maybe hand-roll a solution from a Raspberry Pi? I think the current versions have Ethernet, WiFi & Bluetooth on-board. Plenty of spare USB slots if not.

I'm not very up this kind of thing but I'd have thought setting up a VPN with whatever device you normally access these things with would be the way forwards?
