Old-fashioned cotton canvas is the best stuff for vehicle covers. It's heavy duty, waterproof, not prone to condensation, difficult to blow away, difficult to melt/set fire to on a hot exhaust and breathable.
Downsides are it's heavy, bulky and needs re-proofing occasionally.
I doubt you'll find one on amazon. Usually need a small bespoke company or a local company who make tarps for the back of trucks to make you one up. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I've been using for JDC covers for the last few years and find them
pretty rugged and UV proof enough not to disintegrate over 1 summer.
One did get a bit faded after two though
AFAIK they're UK based but will post to the colonies
for instance

you may find them on US Amazon ____________________ bikers smell of wee |

I have an old Held bike cover and I swear it's just made out of tent canvas. It's been excellent, was a bit sun faded but otherwise still totally serviceable after years of use. Then the bike went over in the wind and tore it a bit. So I tried to replace it, but Held no longer make an equivalent, all their covers look like modern tent material, which just isn't hardwearing enough for the job generally.
I've tried a load of different bike covers from the big names over the years, and they're almost universally terrible (melting, flapping themselves to pieces in the wind, disintegrating in the sun). I'll probably end up giving one of those JDC covers a go. ____________________ Current - '94 VFR750FR, '00 VFR800FI Previous - '10 Street Triple R, '92 MZ ETZ301, '05 TTR250, NSR125R, KMX125, "Honda" Win (chinese copy of an old Honda design with a C90 engine)

I have an idea! Park your bike in a garage. I know, easier said than done, right? But finding a quality bike cover that can withstand the elements is also easier said than done. In fact, probably easier to find a garage than a stout bike cover. But the expense and scarce availability kills that idea.
Alternately, you can resign yourself to riding a rat bike. ____________________ History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of men - BOC |

Still water proof, No rips or tears, no fading.
Will have to see how it looks after the summer of course but I might
bung something over it during the sunnier months to slow down the UV rot.
I also noticed I bought a £10 one about six month earlier than that which didn't last long |

Hey if you want a cheap motorcycle cover then I have the best option for you to try this VB motorcycle cover. A friend of mine used this cover and it was damn good the best part is it's completely within the budget and not so costly. It is the best quality cover that can take the wind and it's waterproof as your demand. So try this one. Although let's find out whether it's a universal cover or not. |
